Finally really ran my 361CQ today

As I have posted in the past, wifey gave me a 361CQ for Xmas and until today I haven't been able to really run it for a full day. We had a huge double oak split and blow down last fall (36"+ DBH). I was able to buck both trunks and clean up the top and limbs last year, but the guy that does our splitting wanted me to leave the 18" long bucks as they were. Needless to say they were too heavy for him to move around for splitting.

So today I got the chance to block it all up and make some huge piles of noodles. I was running 20" RSC and 24" skip chisel. The saw loves to eat!!! I just let it feed and it didn't miss a beat. Ran 9 tanks thru it today and boy am I happy. Even my body feels good. I did note that if I dogged it and leaned on the 24" I could bog it - just let it eat and it sang right along. YES, I know a bigger saw would be better/more fun/quicker but for now the 361 has done more than I ever expected.

If your impressed now, just think what you will have after the rings seat, and the bearings brake in a little, plus your going to want to open the muffler up a little.

I reckon your 290 won't be getting much use anymore, eh? Right, I didn't think so.

Didn't think to bring the camera :bang: And no the 290 won't see much use, BUT it has been a goood saw and is in great shape; for now my backup. Thought about Ebaying it to all the crazies and getting a 260, but that will push the wife over the edge. Patience and we'll see what the fall brings.

Andy, I work for the local power company so I'm outside everyday, on my days off I'd prefer not to freeze my a** off if I'm not getting paid. During the winter, I use weekends to recover unless I have to do otherwise. But I didn't say I didn't use my saw, just not a whole day's worth. Next time wifey wants to give me a saw I'll suggest April (my birthday) - trust me it was a long wait, but worth it.
