I got my 310 and love the crap out of it. I also proformed some mod work to it. Cuts very fast and so on. I want a smaller saw with the same power or more, dont care if its a stihl or whatever.... well just to piss of sap I love stihls best saw in the world. lol Thanks guys.

Where is sap? He's ben sighted once recently, but didn't stay. Surely he hasn't run out of stuff to mouth off about?

Smaller with same grunt will mean a mod or two with any make I am afraid. You can toss a 260 around in the limbs pretty easily, if you have a Dolmar dealer nearby a 5100S should do about the same work for less dollars and I just bought an Echo520 for the guys at work to cut blocking and it actualy impressed me for handling and power. You dont want a saw to be too handy or you will have less excuses to buy more.:hmm3grin2orange:

So get a MS361. Weighs less than your MS310 and will kick its butt! And you can hand it down to your grandkids!

Wait till you know what you are talking about and who you are talking too. Your name calling might just fit you when you find out.

:buttkick: :buttkick: :buttkick: :buttkick: :buttkick:
Please enlighten me as to who I am talking about, I may have to apologize if he is all that important. I've been following this escapade from day one and seeing "sap" defending himself against a bunch of Stihl-ers with herd mentality. He probably did bring it on himself, but when it looked like it was being put to rest, Lakeside decided he should stir the pot a little. If that isn't a jerk, I don't know what is, even though it appears you think he's royalty. Actually I think his knowledge of Stihl saws is a little lacking. If you don't know that you can convert an 031 over to electronic without changing the fly wheel or that an 028's oiler gears are offset, you haven't been paying attention in the shop. But, that's knowledge you don't get from a book.

You just insulted one of if not the most knowledgable members on this site. If you read all of sap's posts you will know why he has ticked everyone off. 12 posts puts you at the Noob stage and I would say that you have some reading to do to know this community.

Hey, dugide, let it go....This guy has asked for it, every step of the way. Me, I stayed out of it till I couldn't anymore...and I'm not a Stihl fan as much as the other guys....but I've run them for longer than any of them, more'n likely.

Boy you sound just like sap... Are you related? I think we've found a rare subject - the 1 in a 1000 that actually likes sap.

As for the 031 flywheel... just 'cos it runs doesn't mean it's right. There is a 15+ degrees difference between the electronic version and the points version. Run it hard and watch the muffler glow..

028 gears.. knock your self out:)

Sig: Just another jerk.

Funny thing is SAP is the only guy on this site I've ever trashed... and I'm for sure a Stihl fan, but I don't trash other brands (except some jabs at the throw-away types), and in fact like some of them, even Husky's:D

Enlighten you, why, are we suppose to enlighten you? And no you haven't been following the Sap saga since day one like you claim because its been going on for almost three months. That's your first lie in your first 12 posts. Secondly if you have been following it like you say what is there to enlighten you about, you should already know it all so whats up with all your bs so fast. I mean if your going to lay it out that plain you should be able to see it yourself. Talk about people bringing it on theirselves, seems your pretty good at it too. You spell it right out but apparently aren't smart enough to realize how easy it is to see. If your saw knowledge is on par with your bs I think you may want to get more books, not shop work. To speak on Lakes knowledge of saws you would have to read over 1500 posts of his, have you, no, just more bs from you. Seems to me your one of those bring it on boys and you know what, cool, bring it on, who knows you may become my frend.................................

But...but....you said that flywheel was a perfect fit for my 034 that you fixed today, but it had to be mounted bassackwards.......and the side benefit was that would help the starter pawls to stay in 2 instead of 31,234.2 pieces.....

Thank for rewelding the plastic to keep the oiler in place, we don't want it pumping too much iron...and thanks for scavenging them parts off the old Willys axle for a Simpson winch brake....have you applied to the US Patent office yet for that bright idea?

Thanks for fixing the choke lever...literally fixing it..in one place. did you include the handy quick access hot shoe button so I can quickly lean out the high speed jet to compensate for the choke being on all the time? Boy, this saw should be a real wild sting...errr I mean Thing... I thinkkkkkk.

dang this $3 Trader Joes wine is.....
