Steel toe boots are a really good idea also. They might be cold in the woods at 20 degrees but it sure beats walking with a limp. I wear safety clagges with my helmet and face screen. Always wear gloves to save on the hands. No loose clothes is a good idea. If you wear a hooded sweat shirt or a Carhart with a hood.....cut the strings....CUT THEM!

Safety should always be first. Never cut with bystanders. I try to keep everyone at least 10 feet away and make sure that no one ever stands behind you.

I kinda like the shirts my Navy buddies used to wear. "Navy EOD...If you see me running...try to keep up."

I guess that I am heading down a good path, with all of the stories that I have read here and heard on the job site it amazes me that more folks don't get some proper gear.

I look at it like my motorcycle- I always ride with helmet and leathers-and I think the same phrase applies to saws

put a $10 head in a $10 helmet.
