Any advice for an amatuer? I will be in 4 classes at the local fair. 026 w/14" .325 chisel, 371 w/16" 3/8 chisel, 2100(Husky) w/18" 3/8 chisel, 090KD w/18" 3/8 square chisel. I have had almost no time to run these saws this summer, as I am building a 24 x 64 two-story garage. My collection of saws is fast taking over my present 30 x 64 two-story garage. Our rules are two hands on log, 10" or 12" poplar cant , saw running, stop watch starts on "GO", stops as saw clears third cut. First cut has to be down. Fortunately the small saws are first, during 10 minutes of practice I went from the 090 to the 371 and promptly bogged it down. The 090 can be pushed and pulled as hard as I can and it does not slow down!! Best time with 090, 6 seconds, 12" round poplar. I will be racing against a Homey 8800 that Mr Rupley built for a guy in my neighborhood, "NE Ohio". He will run it in the "run what you brung" class along with the 090. Old saws are my thing, so I will probably take my 1225-A Mac and a Mall 7-G just to demo.
So many saws, so little time. Larry
