Those slabs alway look all nice and pretty, until they sit for a while and they warp, check, and the bark falls off.
It reminds me of when you cut down a tree and the customer wants you to leave the stump so they can put a flower pot on it. They don't want the stump, in a year or two the bark is falling off, it's all ugly and full of bugs.
