Hey Guys! Some of you may recall the thread I started a while back called Moving Tree Debris: Back To Front Yard ??? There I wanted to hear how some of you moved tree removal debris from the back yard to the front yard without using large machinery or not being able to back in close. Well, guess what I got that came today? See below!:

Some of you guys came up with some interesting stuff and also mentioned something I meant to do for a while, but put off until now. I've been waiting for this thing to show up since the 2nd day of February and now that it's here, I can't wait to use it, but probably won't need it for a while. We'll see!

It's coming!.........

It is my new Dr. Powerwagon! It's their new 8.25hp series with 1 rear speed and 4 forward speeds. Seems like gear #1 is geared low and goes at a snail's pace, but the one thing the agent wasn't lying about was that you'll probably never need the higher gear! I put it into #3 only and it was so fast, I felt I had to jog to keep up. LOL!

Above you see the tilted bed and the concrete underneath that's used for weight for added traction. So far I'm pumped. I had to put oil in it as it came dry, then gassed 'er up, put the choke on and she fired up on the 4th-5th pull. It's really easy to turn and feels good. I got to use one of these once that belonged to the client. We hauled wood approx. 290ft from behind the house to the front and it was a great time and back saver. One thing I overlooked was that not only will I be able to haul the heavy wood, but stump mulch and brush as well. They have a DVD showing a guy hauling a hog of a stack of brush and it's another feature that didn't sell me originally.

Now if I can get the Stihl paint, I'll spray 'er up and I'll be doing some Rockin'!!

So how do you guys like your Dr. Powerwagon? Anyone else think of getting one?

I have a young monster working for me. 24, 6'3", 260 and lifts logs like toothpicks. I used to be able to but the age thing caught up. No monthly payments unless he's making me money working for me. On the other hand, cool little rig. How fast can it go with the max load?

Max load is 800lbs and it will go faster than I can walk. Forgot the speed; maybe something like 5.5mph, but won't need the higher gear too often as #3 made me hustle to keep up anyway! To convince myself I got it because I'm smarter and not getting older, more out of shape and lazier, was the reasoning I told myself why I need it. LOL!

looks like a very useful tool!

got to keep a lookout for a used one...

sweet gadget! but i'll stick with my original reply. what if it's a big fir and it has to come out of a 30" gate, down a 3 tiered, turning sidewalk, then down some more stairs? good old man power. the situations we see in the urban yards here almost NEVER lend themselves to any labor-saving devices- save a 2 man log carrier.

Hi Thekid,, check out a tracked vehicle

Called the canycom, ruber tracks, and if a feller can wlk up it with apack on, the canycom will go up it.

Our trail creew got one, and its a lifesaver!

ps-Jonsered make an iron horse that seems similar.

i think the canycom will fit in 30 inches.

"Cute" is the first word that comes to mind. I still use a wheelbarrel, attached to a big guy named "Gut."

I also like that you can take the sides off to make flat bed, great for the last piece of stump cut.
The low gear is very good for hill climbing, higher gears will just spin the wheels.

power wagon

what did you pay for it and were did you get it. looks like a back saver.what is the size of the box.

go ahead and rub it in :D

been keeping an eye on craigslist for one to pop up...

I'm really happy with my PowerWagon. Got it off Craigslist for $250! LOL.(stuck float valve)

It's really nice for moving wood long distances and uphill. Zips right through a 36 inch gate and as has been mentioned has plenty of ground speed available.

give us a report on how well it works, pro's and con's, iff you think it was worth the purchace.

I've seen a few similar products out there that seem better, like lower center of gravity...

I saw this at the WAA tradeshow in February. It was around $2800 if I remember right.

Cool buy. I have been tinkering with the idea of getting one. I'm just not too sure about how often I could use it and how easy it would be to get to and from the work site. Stihlrockin' or Treeco how do you transport it?

When we cant use our bobcat or excavator we use a 4 wheeler with or without a trailer.

thats a heck of a machine, just got the DR mag in the mail the other day.$1699.00smackers.i will just have to stick with bigun for right now.6:4 290 lbs.bus picks up it on my list of S___ t to git.

Hey I'm already thinking about next winters project. I believe that little helper cart is under 2 hp. Why not take about a 9 hp snowblower ,remove the blower housing and put in its place a Sherril log dolley. Snowblower has reverse and forward speeds up to 4 mph. Now you have a multi use machine blow snow in winter and haul wood in summer.

You are thinkin like me. I picked up an MTD 10hp Snowblower for a little over 250 down in Cincinnati on e-bay. I am going to yank the motor and put it to work on a hydraulic winch for the big logs I need to get up the hillside/out of the ravine, etc. I would be careful using the transmission/frame from the snowthrower might burn it up quick. Still like the Dr. Powerwagon... maybe next year or sooner!

Hey Stihlrockin, You been using that new cart much yet? How do you like it?

I believe Ariens makes a top of the line snowblower up to 13 hp . And all their large models 8 hp up have cast iron differential housings etc. They are supposed to steer and turn the best too.

Also check out Muck Truck on the web. There is a couple of other companies in the states who make a copy of the muck truck, one is TERRA MOVER? and the other I forget the name ,will post it when I find it again.

That is true. Ariens builds substantial snowthrowers but what I am saying is that they are built only to propel the unit not push against a heavy load on level ground much less an incline and you would still run the risk of burning up the transmission.
