Hee hee:) I know what ya mean, kinda makes a guy feel like a vulture eh? LOL

Figures we'd get a ice storm the day before I'm leaving town for Christmas. Guess it's better than having the storm on the day I'm leaving, though...

going to be here 2night

1/4 to 1/2" of ice predicted. It should be pretty exciting around here tomorrow morning.

After all the destruction we had last week in New England, you guys can keep all the ice out there! Many of the guys I work with still don't have power.

The weather guys are telling us we are going to see some snow and possibly some ice out east as well tomorrow.

Chains are sharp, fuel is mixed, hell, even got some gas for the generator. I'm ready. Hope it doesn't hit too hard but it sure can't hurt to be prepared.

Pine?

You guys in Indiana, keep a heads-up for white pine! Im looking for some to chainsaw carve and can pick-up!

Here's what the weather man is saying for my area about 30 miles south of Terre Haute.

Tonight: A chance of freezing rain and sleet before 9pm, then rain or freezing rain between 9pm and 10pm, then rain after 10pm. Some thunder is also possible. Patchy fog after midnight. Temperature rising to around 36 by 5am. Southeast wind between 5 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Some ice expected here, Frankfort, IN.. 18 acres woods, sure hate to harvest my own downed timber, but am surrounded by about 200 acres of creek bottom timber. Down to my last cord for sale, wanted to stretch until first of the year, but people won't stop calling. BEAR

Not a good time of year for people to be without power for multiple days. But last weeks ice storm was really a big help to my tree service guys. Lot's of them were running out of work. Now they have a couple weeks of as much work as they can stay awake for.

The 10" to 15" of snow we're supposed to get today should clear out my last 6 Husky snow throwers.

And as the first snow storm of the year, it should also bring in plenty of "no-starts" from all of the procrastinators who never think to see if their blower will run until there is a foot of snow in the driveway.

:agree2: You guys want to be careful what you wish for - Being without power, water, etc for over 10 days now as people in New England are can't be much fun. Many of the maple syrup makers up there have been wiped out by this last icestorm - Thousands of maple trees split, down, and un-tappable for this year & maybe more. There has to be easier ways to get wood other than seeing property destroyed.

We got lucky here. A few branches down here and there, only about 10% without power in central illinois. Tree crews should have a little extra christmas cash this year. Be careful out there.
