Grab a pickup, saw and permit and go to your local State Game Lands for free downed trees.

Too much work anytime of the year. You can't take any vehicle on state land to carry it out with. (pick up or ATV)...Rick

The Philadelphia Craigslist hasn't had too much firewood lately. There seems to have been quite a few knuckleheads that post a pic of a standing tree as 'free firewood' if you cut down and remove the entire tree. I wonder if they get anyone to fall for that?

Yeah, I've noticed that too. Hey, if the tree isn't near anything that could be damaged, and the owner doesn't want to cut it themselves...maybe then they'd get someone to cut it for them. Seems like a liability case to me though.

guys, the day this dude posted his want for firewood, i pm'ed him. i could easily front him a truckload or two (standard bed). i just asked that he help me cut it. (it's been down for over 3 years and is ready to burn. they are tops that a logging company left on our land.)

he never got back to me...

Surprised? He didn't want to do the work to find the free firewood, why would he want to work to get the firewood once found.:sucks:
