A local mill around here will sell bundles of their slab wood cheap, and load it for you. If I needed wood, that's the direction I'd go right now.

I can't give away firewood here in Western New York. Had a 70 foot Oak blow down in a storm 2 years ago. My Son in law and I cut it up into 24" pieces and trailered it to the street. It sat at the street for a week before I called the DPW. The city came and picked it up with a payloader. Took them 3 trips to get it all. A real shame.

Pretty much the same here. I give it to a few relatives, but when it comes down to splitting or cutting, they disappear.

It’s still difficult to give wood away here, more than half of the forest died a few years ago.

The three farms I cut on are about out of Ash, it's time to get back to all of the Oaks that are dying.

Sorry Gunny, I'd bring you some, but I'm over 100 miles away.
