That was my first thought when he said bulldozer. A dozer can destroy the top soil where as a hydro ax can mulch and till everything into the top soil without destroying it.

just a idea, you may not end up with charcoal but it would mean not having a open raging fire
I have thought about this too. I see ads for it on market place. Currently there is snow on the ground but some spring time it might be a good estimate to get. Im trying to preserve and regrow the what was woods.
Snow won't stop a hydro ax. Might work better while the ground is still frozen so they don't get stuck.
I have tossed around this idea as well for burning the scrap that comes off the splitter - just get it going while im splitting and keep tossing scrap in it while im splitting during the day. The 275 gal size would be nice cause I can scoop and dump in it with the loader
