For all you guys around Indiana there's a free alternative, even besides Craigslist..it's called Indiana Free Ads. I bought 4 Stihls on there for $60 total. I did have to drive a ways to get them however. Some people might consider mailing them and you could pay by postal money order, cutting paypal out also. Just a thought. Since I heard about the site I've been watching it pretty often.

From INDY, sure..i'm 40 miles from the eastern seaboard.. it costs me $26 to ship a 044 with 20" bar to Oregon, and THAT was Parcel post... to ship any other way would have been close to $40...

Either way, I agree with you, i'll keep doing the same-old, although RANDOMLY selling only..

My trouble with selling larger saws with a 20" bar is that I have trouble finding boxes big enough to put them in, even with the bar unattached.

eBay is losing itself now anyway. I've noticed over the past 10 years, slowly......all the auctions went away. Everything is a buy-it-now. Rarely you'll find a best-offer item. I would scan eBay for saw deals (and gun parts before they stopped that) at least twice a week over my morning coffee/smoke break in the shop. Once in a while, a decent deal would pop up, I'd throw a few bids at it, and see what happens. Not so much any more. I now use eBay just as I do Bailey's or Sportsmans Guide for that matter. Just search by the part number and know that you're gonna pay exactly what the price block says. Took all the fun out of it.:msp_thumbdn:
