these days people spend more time looking at their phones, pads, laptops and computers than each other. you really need to know as much as you can about the people you WANT to get work from. the behavior of people who make 50k a year vs 100k a year is monumental. the things they look for before hiring a company are completely different. A damn good website is going to be a good step. it needs to be easy to navigate, have all the vital information and lots of pictures. the cleaner your companies appearance is the higher income customers your likely to attract. Search engines are another thing. paying google for key search words like "tree service" can cost a huge amount of money but the fact is that if they search for those terms and your page doesnt show up on the first page or two, they will never see you, you wont get the work. another thing to consider is the community you live in. is there a really big church base in your community? you bet your ass, you start going to church and if your a really nice and somewhat talkative fella you just got all of these people who will refer work to you. the same goes with other social communities. lots of ways to advertise out there.

I've put this out before but here it goes again. Always work Saturdays. More people are home and tree work is easily noticed. Two part day jobs even better if in 2 neighborhoods. If you need a day off then take it during the week, work on equipment during the week. Any social organizations to join can make good contacts.
