how about advice for someone who only has £2.50 in the bank

You'll be fine mate, if you need to borrow an 020 let me know, if I can help you I will. Got some tree work coming up, I'll be in touch about that. When I left Eastwoods it was tough for a little while, but it works out. I'm sure the quality of your work will soon pay off. ;)

cheers for the encouragement big fella.
i'll have to pop round for a coffee sometime, still got your book, guess i wont be giving that back to you on monday :p

thanks for the 020 offer.....probably gonna have to go and buy one anyways though, it is after all pretty much the most important tool i need.

CHIN UP ,youll be better off in the long run ,try contract climbing if your any good the phone will be red hot ,slow to start with but believe me you ll be ok ,

thats the plan teresa, and hopefully the odd private job here and there to boost things up a bit

thats the way ,positive attitude ,what went wrong where you were ,care to enlighten us ,where in the uk are you ,? know 2 firms up here in yorks needing contract climbers urgently, rates vary from 100 to 140 a day ,with no tidy up ,could have a word if interested ,

im in suffolk teresa so a bit far away from me unfortunately, but thanks for the offer.
aussie, right now im dont have much at all, gonna have to go and buy the whole caboodle this week
gonna cost me a fortune but hey, i'll have a brand new harness and rope and a shiny brace of saws, cant all be bad getting sacked

i have a friend with a big vermeer who would let me use it whenever needed

all the best steve ,suffolk is a bit far but work is work ,am sure something will crop up ,firms always need good lads .shame that most of them dont wanna pay decent enough wages to keep them, will keep an ear to the ground for you ,them drums is always banging ,,,,,,,could be the stella tho ,

I think a lot of people need something like that to help give them a push in the right direction. I'd love to work by/for myself but I'm in the comfort zone of steady employment and too scared to take a gamble. Change is hard but not necessarily bad.

the market economic's set the rates a climber/ tree workers can get ,the trouble is most client's arent prepared to pay the correct rates so this is reflected in wages accross the board from boss -boy...iv'e said this for years if i could pay a climber £200+ day i would but if a client or the market won't pay it i cant give simple as that..the prob is lowballers and inconsistant work

Did you walk, or were you sacked? 7/8 years regular employment needs darned good reason for dismissal, and you have employees rights, if you were sacked then I should get advice on that. Brother or not! You've a family to support!

does "F*** off, leave the truck and your shi* behind.....and oh yeah dont bother coming in on monday" count as being sacked?
