You will find something.
Im still looking.

Slick, are you guys unique in using a Mog or do other tree outfits use them too. I thought they were expensive. We had one set up as a wildland engine in CA. Amazing the line that machine could go on. :blob2:

steve youll have the last laugh, when hes crying out for a climber /extra bod to get a job finished ontime ,he will ring or want to ring you ,you can then have the satisfaction of telling him to go forth ,were you his no 1 climber ?

yes teresa, he only has 1 other decent climber and hes self employed so hes not necessarily always there

vat registration?

this is a yet another question facing me...will save me a stack of money, specially in my initial start up costs, but ultimately is it going to help or hinder
your views please?

don't bother you wont be buying enough kit i would'nt have thought ..VAT is a pis*er beleive me

well....supposing i go out tomorrow and spend £10000 on a new truck, thats gonna save me nearly £2000 straight off, im going to spend a further £2000 probably this week on saws and stuff, thats another 300-400 saved.
i know i have to pass it on to the customers but if the bulk of my work is contract climbing most of my employers will be vatregistered anyway so it wont bother them
i can see it being a pain for private custom.
but at the end of the day, do i want to spend £2000 extra on my truck if i dont have to ?

if thats the case then going VATreg should be good for you but you must be realy care full not to spend the collected VAT money..it's easey done ,what sort of truck do you think you might buy..id have thought for you if your doing mainly subbing a 4x2 or even 4x4 pick-up would be ideal..i can get you chit hot alloy sides fitted for £450-500..with hinged barn-door style tailgate ideal for chip..if i were looking for that type of truck i'd give hammonds of halesworth a ring mention me ..you can get a brand new 4x2 nissan pick-up for £9,500 + vat on the road

i'll give them a call, thanks.
havent decided 100% yet wether or not i want a 4wd or not
i quite like the mitsubishi canter and have seen a chassis cab for sale very reasonable too which i could get an alloy buck with custom tool box fitted up.

too many choices.

so whats to stop me going vat registered, buy crap loads of kit, then next year un-registering?

so once you're vat registered its for the life of the business?

by the way, missus changed her shift, im available satuday 15th

by the way rolla, i should mention i'll be turning up naked as all my work uniforms have the ex company logo on. that wont be a problem will it?
