i got this poulan pro pole saw a couple of months ago from a guy that needed about a rick of wood,, he needed something to burn right then so all i had and i told him was a load of soft wood that i didn't have anymore seasoned hardwood i could spare. so he traded me this sw for the wood. well he had it in the back of his truck bar out and backed into a tree and snapped the head off,,bent the bar and even put a small bend in the chain. well i got bored and tore it down. All the pieces was there so i got the JB weld out and mixed some up and went to town. Got the 2 pieces lined up,,put a clamp on it to let it cure good. After everything cured for a couple of hours i put it all back together and everything lined up almost perfect. i even got the bar bent back to almost perfectly straight. So i figured what the heck. put it all back together and fired it up and sure enough it cut good. All i have into it is about 2 hours worth work and 30.00 worth of firewood. not bad for a 229.00 pole saw. ..of course i had to do a MM on it. Did i mention,,,this pole saw had less then 1/2 hour on it???? I will put a couple of pics on shortly..

Funny how those things break isn't it? The way you worded it made me laugh... "backed into a tree...snapped the head off..." lol. It's easy to entertain me.

Good pruning saw. Sometimes, I wish I had one, for those random zombies that wander around here every so often...

Good to hear another saw has been rescued.

it should be pretty strong after it cures for a few days.. i had priced all the parts to fix it and it was over 200, was way more then what i wanted to put into it.. here is the pics of it. i know it is a strong runner for a poulan. i drilled 2 extra 1/4" holes in the muffler shown in the pic

Pole saws

They will do jobs another saw will not without a lot of climbing & rigging.
My next saw project will be to see if the Stihl HT-75 will fire up & then using it before
mowing season.

Looks great! I don't notice anything that looks weird about it. Good job.

P.S. Deleted pics in quote for those with slow intranettechs...

good thinking on not much $ for parts

Last time I looked, Tractor Supply & others had them for <$200 NIB.

I sure miss having mine...it was one that was an add on to a kit....the power head got the better of me and got wrapped around a tree. I do still have the saw head and extension. I need another power head for mine. I wonder if the stihl power head would work with the attachments I have for the other.
