Large Catalpa with one side split off. The B said it was only like that for 2 weeks. Looked at it and said there was no guarantees with pulling it back. Got the limb off and put the brace in and it was a tough go. It didn't want to come back together. I had to leave for a couple hours cuz I had appointments for the trucks. Came back the B was in the house and not answering the door. Cleaned up spotless like usual. All the blinds in the house were shut now and noone answering the door. Finally all packed up the B answers and I had a feeling about her and had asked for cash prior. Sure as you know it she denies payment cuz the branch never came back together. I ask her to pay for the limb removal and she says NO, when you finish. I tell her if I don't get money now then all the brush and wood were going to get dumped in her driveway. She says "You can't do that" I'm like Ya watch me. Dumped the 14 foot trailer of sawed up brush and wood in her driveway and then took off. Served her with papers today. Ain't life SWEET. This is the first time this has happened to me in 10 years and I am glad about that. Oh she also got a cord of ash too. She hasn't seen the last of me!

Haha....that must have felt pretty good dumping that load in her driveway, but the cash in the wallet and job satisfaction always feels better (but not every job can end like that).:greenchainsaw: Hope none of it bites you in the butt. She deserves the @$$ pounding.

If you "HAD" to do it must not have been that great, not probably not worth all your hard work..

Which hard work are you referring to? You mean on the tree? Actually I never got a chance to even see that job. My foreman bid that job and the crew did it when I was out of town. Later, when I tried to collect, I get informed there is a financial problem.

Dam Good! Drove since then in the morning and after work just to see what was going on with the mess. She has moved the wood into her garage and the brush is still there. I gave a heads up to the surrounding tree companies about the situation. We will go to court and I am looking for missed work for the day ( so a charge of $600 and the day of work completed) so total 1600. I will compensate her 100 for the brush removal. Don't know if this will fly but can't hurt to try.

Pretty funny after I dumped the load I went and grabbed handfuls of brush and threw it all over her front lawn.. The B and no intentions of paying me. The thing is there are scum like this all over and they do this all the time with contractors. My spidey senses were tingling on this one and I got caught.

Wish I had my video camera.

You are right, it does happen to contractors a lot, but it happens the other way around too. Honest, hard working people are falling off to the wayside these days, it is a shame. Ever see that tv show Holmes on Homes? He is a contractor that comes in and redoes remodeling jobs that were either done completely wrong or not even finished. Just shows how bad some people treat others. Holmes is the man though, he knows how to do everything, and everything the right way; one bad ass Canuck.

Tell me you had a written contract & job description?? If not.... you will be SOL, hate to say that, it would be better to ask the home owner for a partial payment & then go to court if no contract exists....this way it shows intent!

I get one Idiot a year who shafts me/ or tries, their is always someone who even under contract will try to find a loop hole to get out of paying, sad thing is some of my customers (older folks) read the contract & feel as though you are not trusting their word which in most cases you do.....but one bad apple.....

I have threatened with the dump in front of garage thing too, or front yard or better yet wait till they leave & dump at front of drive so they cant get in! LOL. when they know you`re serious they`ll usually pay!

good luck!
