I have a grinder and use it but do people file a chain in between grinds or typically if you grind you never file?

When filing how many chains does a round file last as a guide?

It will depend on how much you cut between grinds. If it is a lot, I would recommend filing or do you run chain until dull then swap chains? In that case hand filing is not necessary.

When the file stops filing. Cheap files don't last, good ones will still file but be slower
