Guess what I won today in a raffle

I won a Husky 137w/cat muffler.. I found out that poulan makes the 137 and the 142 for husky .. I was wondering why does Husky ask 200.00 for it and you can buy a poulan the same size for 100.00-125.00.. What gives ?? I don't think they are built better are they??

It is a local husky dealer that does not service the saws .. It is bomgaars they supply farmers with supplies..

I am not positive, but I thought the new "throw away" poulans were 33 and 36cc. Don't they make craftsmans saws too? Kinda hard to believe that husky would stoop that low on the totem pole. I wish I had a husky dealer close to go check it out.

Yes, Poulan makes sears craftsman saws..Yes, the 137 and the 142 are in fact poulans.. Just to make sure I called Walkers saw shop and he said yes the 137 and the 142 are poulans. He also said they are made in the same plant as poulans .. Right here in the US... But he did not know what model of a poulan it is ... That is where I need help on..So please help me find out what model it is ....

Doesn't appear that that one is the wild thing, as the thing is 40cc instead of the husky's 42cc....still searching

I was under the impression that Husky saws utilized the "two mass" principle on all of their rear handle saws, whereas the Poulan brand did not?

scottc it was very intresting that is for sure.. Well boy's I did a part number cross check on the jug assy.. The part number the husky uses is the same a this http://www.oscar-wilson.com/invlookup_results.asp?search=530069940&Submit=Submit... They are a supplier of poulan parts ..But it does not get me a model number of the poulan..

The husky 137 reminds me of the poulan pro 222.

C4f , the outside looks similar but if you look up the IPL they are very different . The 137 engine is seperate from the gas tank and rear handle . If I remember correctly the 222 has no AV springs .

Comparison

Allen , are you trying to see if they are the same cranks , mufflers and cylinders on the Poulan 2250LE and the Husqvarna 137 ?

They are not the same part number.. I looked .. All I would like to know is what model of poulan it is .. I am trying my hardest to find out too..

All I know the reason why I want the model number is so I can order the non-cat muffler ..Husky will only sell the cat muffler.. In many pics of this saw it shows a std black muffler.. Thats what I am looking for ..
