New receipe - Lemon Breasted Chicken

I think we're going to try chicken this year instead of turkey -

Ingredients:

1 whole chicken (weight is dependent on how many servings are required)
1 large lemon, cut into half the round direction not lengthwise
1 sprig of rosemary, salt and pepper or lemon pepper to taste
butter or olive oil, whichever you prefer

Heat oven to 350 degrees

Rub butter or oil over the skin of the chicken until it is completely coated.

Take a knife and gently separate the skin from the breast meat; slide lemon halves under the skin with the peel side up. This way the juice from the lemon halves will coat the breast meat during cooking.

Season skin of chicken to your preference.
Place sprig of rosemary into the chicken.

Cover and place in oven for 30-45 minutes.

Remove cover and continue to roast until juices run clear, basting every 15-20 minutes, depending on the size of the bird.

If you've followed these steps correctly, your chicken should look like the one in the picture.

Bon Appetit!!!!!!!Happy Thanksgiving

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and can be with family and friends. Think about those who can not be with their families and pause for a moment to count your blessings. Take care everyone.:)

Tell him thanks for me. We should all be grateful for those who are serving here and overseas to keep us safe. And make sure he learns to shoot fast, straight, and most importantly - first. If he ever has to go overseas this will help him get home safe.

Happy t-day

Look like they all ate way too much turkey, especially the one on the right!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my friends at AS, most of which, sadly, I'll probably never meet.

I'm sitting here wondering if that gigantic dinner I ate will ever move down the pipeline enough to make some room for mom's pumpkin pie. I may need a saw to open up myself. Remember how after you threw up from drinking to much, you swore you'd never get drunk again? Well, I could almost swear that I'll never eat again!

I had saved some oak blocks by the splitter for today because Dad wanted to split some wood, but it rained here in the northeast, so all outdoor projects were canceled. Did go out to the workshop in back of the house, hung a new light over the workbench, did a little saw job of my own, and BS'ed over a couple of beers.

Although we didn't cut or split any wood, we have certainly been burning it all day. It has been blowing rain in the high 30's all day but the stove has the whole house nice and toasty.

We do have a lot to be thankful about, and we owe much of our thanks to those guys in the military who keep us safe here at home so we can argue about which saws are best.

So, back to the store tomorrow. Probably will sell a few saws, maybe a snowblower or a Western plow.

Hope everybody can button their pants in the morning!

God bless all of ya'.

Didn't have to cook at all... but I've scored plenty of leftovers for my famous leftover pie. Also snagged a mystery partner saw on the old ebay for what I call cheap. May have found a coil for my P85.. likely not though. Not sure about alternate part numbers.

My wife won't let me carve the turkey with
my new Dolmar PS-5100S...:bang:

Last Christmas, I cut a whole bone-in ham in half with a sawzall...does that count?

Beautiful Thanksgiving Day here in central Ohio. Sunny and 59 degrees...not a cloud in the sky. I mulched leaves for the garden with my trusty Crapsman shredder/mulcher and then had a Thanksgiving dinner that couldn't be beat. I hope everyone's day was as nice as mine.
