I'm almost ready to toss this bleedin' 346 out the window! The throttle linkage came out of the trigger end and do you think for the life of me I can get it back in???
I've tried to remain calm, I've had a drink to settle down and after about an hour of trying I still can't get it in. It's straight on the end of the linkage with a crimped end that slides in a hole I guess, but I can't find the freakin thing!! And I'm ready to lose it!
So laugh at me if you will, but I'd be greatly indebted to who ever can set me straight on this one before I go Rodger Dultry on it!
Some Wild in Erin

Wish I could help, but I'm a stihl guy ;) and Stihl's are easy.

But I'm interested in the result - I have a 346 to put back togther when the parts arrive.. same stuff...

Are you trying to get the linkage back in the throttle,or the saw back in the window...I'm confused:bang:

Both lol
I think I got it fugured out. On the end of the throttle linkage there is supposed to be a rectangular piece of plastic that butts against the trigger, however, it looks like this fell down inside the handle furthering the problem and there looks like there is no way to get inside the rear handle unless I take a BMFH to it. I bet I end up changing the whole tank to get out of this one.:blob2:

I threw the bridge crew's poulan wild thing against the counterweight of my crane and told the big boss to quit being a tightwad and go buy a stihl. He went and bought a ms290. Hey, better than a wild thing. (Big Boss is a cool dude, he used to be a bridge builder too)

Both lol

John .....Take a deep breath.... Set the saw on the ground and drive the skidder over it... That should help fix it...... :) :)

Push out the pin and remove the trigger and interlock with spring. Turn the saw upside down and shake rattle and roll it until the block falls back out

You can use slow set epoxy after doing a dry fit to make sure it all lines up. Just don't drop the block back in the handle doing the dry fit up.....you can rough up the metal of the linkage with diagonal cutters to give it some "tooth" so it can be checked before gluing.

More often than not the block breaks into more than one piece ....in that case you need a new linkage

Had a 262 that got me that flustered once John, deep breaths as Ultra suggests.

Have wanted to throw the wife like that more than once, but that's another story:heart:

Thanks for the help fellas, I think I got it fixed, I just robbed the piece that fell down inside the handle off of a brand new 359. I'm sure the piece that fell down inside the handle will flop around in there like a wet dishrag. I can see it all now, me with the 346 help WOT shacken it over my head.
Sorta like playing air guitar. Has anyone played air chainsaw before? I bet Spacemule plays it all the time at work.;)
Roger, the 385 throttle linkage is almost as frustrating when it comes off.

Have you ever wanted to toss a saw out the window?

Yup, but I didn't. But my buddy did, he tossed a 066 about 35 ft down through the woods because it wouldn't start. He went down later after he cooled off and got it, and it started. I think he scared the s:censored: out of it, so it didn't want to mess with him again.:hmm3grin2orange: :biggrinbounce2: ;)
