sigh.....this thread reminds me of how most high school guys thought they knew a lot about cars because they read a lot of magazines, yet few could pick up a wrench and help fix something. They would argue Ford vs. Chevy and Edlebrock vs. Holley....maybe I already know some of you! :hmm3grin2orange:

if someone has actually done a decent mod they recommend for my saw, please PM me. Thanks for those that tried to help, I see what you are up against.

Go ahead pick on the Wildthing, seems the homeowner Stihls aren't put together much different. Pick on a 290 and the people that own them once and see how uptight they get. You here stories of serving their purpose and all kinds of good stuff.

I hear ya, lets just say I was inspired by, hmmmmm, Someone and I traded mine in.:cheers:

I told him to make a doorstop out of it... that's serving a purpose!:hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange::popcorn: :popcorn:

Alright can't hold back.
If you put it at the front door, it could serve as a mud scraper.:blob2:

A plastic cased homeowner saw is a plastic cased homeowner saw, whether it is white and orange, orange, yellow, red, or green. just the poulan ones cost a 1/3 as much as the others. The poulan 220 i had in a plastic case couldn't be killed and started every time without hesitation.
Here is a craftsman version WT 4218, rebuilt to a 3816 now out of 2 saws with no cost. Just a short one cut video of 1 cut in action.

Kevin , did you do the same muffler mod to the red wildthing that you did to the PP220 , like the twisted open rear louvres and the two 15/64" holes in the front cover ?

Didnt do the front holes. Figured it was going to the kid for free and he wood probably be cutting in the dirt, if you know what I am saying. So the front is not done and the rears are as open as I could go. No baffle, no screens either. If i end up keeping it for a loaner saw, it will get the holes in the front.
