Hello stewards of the fauna. I'm currently studying for the exam and was wondering if there were any "practice tests" or help online in the form of examples of the test. I'm also wondering if picture ID has been excluded now. Is the Exam entirely miltiple choice?

Thanks,
Opptimistically, another Arborist

If your talking ISA exam,
Don't know about online practice test, but those CDroms have sample test.
In another thread they said there is no longer Tree ID.
If memory serves me right it was all mulitple choice.

Good luck.

I am taking the test on April 12th and from what I understand there is still tree ID, they just don't have the actual tree parts you look at, you have to id them from pics on the test. I believe the test is 200 multiple choice questions.

thanks , I'm soaking it all up like root hair. Bahahaha..... OK maybe we need to put the book away for the night?

It's not a spelling test or a typing test. Thank God! As for when I'm taking the test, I'm not sure. Thinking I'll likely have to take it via computer as there isn't one scheduled in WI.

Is it really true they removed the tree ID section? It was photos when I took it. Try telling the difference from a Quercus virginiana and a Quercus agrifolia from a photo.

I think I took the MD Tree Expert exam in 1999. The day I took the test was supposed to be the first time that MD used the ISA. Their computers went down and we had to do the old MD test. We got to walk around St. Johns campus to do the ID, it was a fun day. Felt like I was in grade school again with guys pulling on my shirt sleave asking what's this one what's that one. It's worth an afternoon to walk around that campus, they have some very big specimens there, Joe.
