I think u are a little low. I think 7-800. Little tree, LOTS of targets. Like GOM said, pass on it if she wants it cheaper.

When a cust. says that to me on a job that I have given a good price on. I tell them the next available date I can do the work and ask "Yes or No"? Then walk away.

From the pics it looks like there's almost room to drop that. If so, $600 would be fair, no stump grinding. If you have to climb it and piece it out then I'd be looking $800 too. It's only about an hours climb, but depends on how you are going to get rid of the brush.

Sounds like she's looking for the same quality in tree removal that she got in electrical work!!!! Look at those panels and the carflex flexible tubing all bunched up and taped together. That is a disgrace!!!! Sometimes you have to look deeper into a property and not get discouraged when a good estimate gets turned down. She had hacks for electric work, will probably have hacks for tree work too.

One of my neighbors is having a tree done right now. Maple twice that size targets the house and his service lines. Guy is doing it for $600 and leaving the wood. One climber one ground guy... oh yeah and one of their 3 year old daughters sitting off to the side. Trying to get a hold of my neighbor now and tell him to get home and straighten out the contractor before something happens. But you get what you pay for. The neighbor asked me for a price and when he told me what he was paying I did not get back to him because it was more then a $600 even for a good neighbor. Sometimes its just got to pay what its worth, now I wish I had offered to do it for him considering whats going on. Hopefully the ****** gets the kid out of there before something happens. The wife has strict instructions to make a call to the locals if need be.

Right just take your time and learn the rules man I don't think you intended any fowl but be careful, complaining over moderation is a hanging offense:). I know your not really complaining but it could be taken that way! Anyway welcome and if you get banned they sometimes let you back or I would not be here 3 times ago if I remember correctly! I have not been banned in ages but I sorta learned the ropes knots too avoid. :hmm3grin2orange:

I can't really see pricing that tree for any less than $600.
I could see pricing it at $800 and then shooting for a half day and charging $600

Stick with your price

TKS for the help all this was worth $800 but i stuck with my price of $600
friend of my dads so i helped her out and he helped me out with chipping and clean up as well as my grounds man how we handeld the targets was to install scafolding and plywood over the well -pressure tank and the rest it worked out good the tree rigging a sky line and loop runners was easy to get things moving away from the base to keep it clear got an early start and was done with out to much truble ill know next time to charge more a tree infested with afieds sticky mess :msp_sneaky:

who is "someone" and how are they qualified to bid tree work?
600 seems right to me, its not a difficult removal, you got a lot of room, but i wouldnt drop it and you have to rope most of it
she wants you to be above board but isnt willing to pay what you need to not only have good and well maintained equipment, qualified help and the insurance required if anything goes wrong
youre not going to get every job you bid, and you shouldnt try to

cant really tell too much from your pictures, obstructions, how much room to work in the removal, not only getting it down but getting it onto the truck...
and the job isnt just time in the yard, its time to get to the job and time into dumping
youre going to screw up some bids, thats part of the learning curve
dont be the guy with a chain saw and a truck
if youre going to do this right, do it right
youll know when the job is done if you bid it right
starting is hard, once you build a name its easier to bid higher
having the right equipment makes it easier to finish jobs quickly
