It's very nice too, better than the one BillG got and it was very good.

Quit teasing and cough up a saw.
Well, because you look like an old time bucker, I'll bump you to the top of the list.
I don't have a real high interest in the belt drives, I have had several, including the big ones and I pass them on to those who want them. I'm keeping one, a decent 5-30N, needs a muffler.
Got a Homelite Super 1050 today! Weighs in at 22lbs and throws down 6.1 cu. in. (100 cc) of power. Traded a muffler modded poulan 2150 for it. The guy cam into my shop today and was going to try and sell the saw for $100, well I knew the owner, knew the saw, knew it ran well and instead I offered the little trade and boom! It was mine! The paint is peeling all around but the saw is otherwise actually in REALLY great condition. It had a 20" bar on it but for the fun i decided to toss an old 42" I had laying around on it! She looks mean and runs beautiful! Im proud and happy to own an old american original.
Big, Husky guy
I think CB looks good with that old saw, lose the muffs, put on an cloth hat, fade those pics, it's the '50s again.
Nah, I have a few Husqvarnas but I ain't a Husky guy. For years Stihls outnumbered everything else I had. Now, Homelites rule the roost.
Oh wait, you mean I'm no slender reed. Only way to be so you don't tip over picking up one of these 'lightweight' Homies.

yup yup, its all about the hat when yer cuttin.
best to have one that shows up bright and is waterproof too. :hmm3grin2orange:
Finally I find a can of PlastiKote spray paint in the PERFECT very light blue metallic (#882 Classic Metals Crystal Blue) laying around at work. They gave it to me, so I can at last redo my early XL12 ($10- yard sale find). I came home to look it up so all you guys could get some too- wouldn't you know it's discontinued .
Another can I have of a current color, metallic light blue Duplicolor auto touchup would be fine for the later more vivid Homelite blue though.

Now I'm into this saw further than I intended. I had to make a vacuum pressure tester in preparation for repairing a Husky Rancher 55 that my neighbor gave me, so I decided to test my SLXA. And it wouldn't hold either vacuum or pressure. Under pressure the clutch side seal leaked like a sieve. The saw's in pieces so I guess I'll replace both crankshaft seals.
According to the only IPL I've found the flywheel side seal has a part number of 12282A, available at CM Small Engines.
According to that same IPL the clutch side seal has a part number of 58308B. I can't find that seal. (It could be my search technique, but I did search.)
Calvin, if you see this, do you have the clutch side seal for my saw, suffix: AO, serial number: 03326520
(And if you're looking for stuff, do you have or can you get a Zama choke shaft 0041102 for a Sears 358.796354 hedge trimmer?)
Thanks L36Driver,67L36Driver said:If you examine the seals themselves you may find a National or CR (Chicago Rawhide) number. Homelite didn't make their own seals, they bought 'em from a supplier just like everyone else.
Thanks L36Driver,
I knew that. But if CM small engines has the part it saves me a bit of research, the price is not to far from the cost of a the same part from a bearing supply house, and I support a forum supporting supplier. (Mostly it saves me time.)
