The intake manifold bolts were stripped out on the cylinder. Fixed them with Helicoil inserts.

I have a couple of these, called 47 and 54 up here in Kanuckistan. One problem as I see it is that the larger saw uses the same carb as the smaller saw. My 47 (290) is more impressive than the larger version. These are either made by or designed by the Germany Solo company, which have an excellent name in saws.

I’ll grant you the carb gave me a WTH?? moment. Being really smallish for 54cc. [emoji15]

View attachment 629068 View attachment 629069 View attachment 629070 Hey gents. couple easy questions I’m sure for you homelite experts. Buddy gave me this saw last night and said it runs, but needed tlc. He wasn’t kidding. Carb full of garbage, no fuel filter, clutch seems stuck engaged. And the muffler fell apart while removing it. Looks like the flange was rtv’d to the body. So first Q, what the hell so this thing? XL-12? XL-auto?
Specs on it? And is this the correct muffler ? Think I’ll try welding the flange back to the body of the muffler. Unless I find a replacement for cheap.
Thx,
Kevin

That muffler type was standard on a lot of the Terry saws. 900 series and Super XL's. Here's a pic of mine. That colour scheme is often called the Christmas Tree.

Here's mine.

Hey guys. Started working on my C-7 again. what type/brand/size spark plug wire should be used as a replacment? found some old threads that said 5mm but the newer types of wire may not work. as usual thanks for the help.
Steve.

Steve.

Be careful pulling the old wire out of the coil. I ruined two C5 as it broke the secondary connection.

Since then I just splice on a length.

I'm looking for some info on this saw. It was given to me by a good friends father. As you can see, the original decals clearly say "Super XL" but everything I look up seems to be a newer super xl auto that is red. Wondering when this was made, how many cc, and whether or not it has an auto.oiler. it runs great and cuts like a beast.
