Picked up another Super 1050 Auto on Friday. Didn't need much for a change and the P&C are spotless. The original bar is in excellent condition so, I don't think it's been used much. I put a new rim on the clutch drum, newer sharp chain, rebuilt the carb and cleaned it up. She runs like a bat outa he!!. It is the only saw I own that starts on one pull almost every time, even cold with the choke just applied. If I ever sell the others, this is the one I'll keep.
 
Brian, it just means yours is the old timer built before 1971. I believe that is when Homelite changed the color.

I got 2 last week and all I got was a XL12 and another 330...........
 
I sold this one complete saw in very good/excellent condition, plus the 2 disassembled parts saws, for $75 plus shipping. They went pretty quick.

Are you saying the blue one is older? If so my dad beat the crap out of the red one. The blue one will look almost new once I clean the oil and sawdust off.
 
I found a loop of Oregon #10AC chain hanging in my shed that happened to perfectly fit a 20" Homelite mount bar. Truth be told, it couldn't be any shorter and still fit. I had to wiggle it over the bar and sprocket, and adjust it tight. I still had to relieve the inside corners of the tail slot just a bit to clear the sprocket. I'll make a limbing saw out of my 900G.

This loop is in surprisingly good shape. I just set it aside years ago when it came packaged with another saw it didn't belong with.

Homelite EZ

Okay I originally thought my red Homelite was a Super EZ. Then after the blue one showed up I noticed that neither say "super" anywhere on them. The red one is type 10104 and the blue one is type 10100. Can anyone verify if they are identical except paint and are they "super EZ" or "EZ" based on the model numbers???:help:

As if anyone cares but I figured this out. Both saws where produced at the same time frame but the blue one is manual oiler only, red one is auto-oiler with manual override...different carbs too.

I allways liked the EZ and then the Super EZ. I have a few of them.
 
The EZ auto my dad bought, it has many hours on it. The EZ looks really clean, won't start but I bet it just needs a carb kit. I am excited to get them rippin.:biggrinbounce2:
 
The SXLAO, or someones junk?

Got this saw at a garage sale with a Husky 51. The woman called it "junk" the said make me an offer. i did now its my "junk'!. I thought this one might need some work. The clutch drum was worn out and missing the nut and washer. i had a parts saw XL12 that saw had a drum in great shape and i kept the washer and nut. I cleaned it good, checked comp and spark, both checked out, P&C spotless. I even was ready with the carb kit. But before I re-built it i figured id dump the gas in the tank and prime the carb. Three pulls and it popped, then stayed running...perfect! Idles and revs like new. So should I rebuild the carb or leave it? I was gonna sell this saw but now not so sure. I sold my 2 blue ones. This one I'm keeping.
Carb kit or not?

Joe, I would just pop the carb off and check it out to see if its gunked up any and check the fuel line and filter at the same time.

If the diaphrams seem good and soft then just put the kit on the shelf for the next saw.

Yeah im gonna go thru the carb mark. Shortcuts never work, id rather do i now, than realize halfway thru a cut that I should have!

i have that same color and same model # parts saw only thing missing is the muffler and the air filter top and the carb i have plenty of carbs on the super xl and xl 12 saws i can always put one with the saw me and JT took off the muffler at the gtg in nc yesterday i told them i take $ 20.00 for the saw

so if you are interested in a parts saw

let me know if you prefer new parts let me know also

Shortcuts useally don't work for me either. I just went through the same thing with a XL-12. Been sitting and seemed to run ok, but I took it apart anyway. The carb was good and needed no kit, but the fuel line was bad.

At least I have the piece of mind that I know its all good now.
 
The straight EZ

Points ignition and just under 35cc with full size 3/8ths chain......and it pulls it well.

I like the smaller straight EZs better too.....
