I have a C series IPL manual coming in the mail for my C72.
Can someone tell me if the guide bar plate shims part numbers are 65956B and 56957B ?
Well, I thought I sent this yesterday trying to be funny, but must have forgot to hit the send button.I thought I had found a problem with the C72 piston. It seem there was to much play between the wrist pin and piston.
As I was removing the wrist pin keeper the little devil went flying and I can't find it.
After I got the pin out the needle bearing looks fine and the play not as bad as I thought. Natural for a needle bearing I believe.
I have a C series manual ordered and as soon as I get the keeper part number I will try and find one and order two. LOL
I knew I did. It's showing up on my desk top, but not my IPad.Yes you already sent the lost spring joke [emoji106]

Will anything from a Super wiz 55 work?Just reaching out here if anybody has a 5-30 parts saw. I am looking for the carburetor guard, underneath the saw.
Afraid not. Has to be one of the belt drives--5-30, 7-29, 8-29.Will anything from a Super wiz 55 work?

Thank you very much. These part numbers will work also for your C72. Homelite made alot of saws with that large mount and all the plates swap.
You did Joe, but twice don't hurt a bit.Well, I thought I sent this yesterday trying to be funny, but must have forgot to hit the send button.
Your spring is under the fridge. Even if you are in another room. Because little springs always land under the fridge.
Thanks. I'll try that.Try searching by size. Shouldn't be too hard to find 2" x 1/16" rings. Worst case, find unpinned rings and file the gap to fit.
That's not a good thing if it is supposed to be pinned. An unpinned ring can spin which is OK for smaller, round ports, but not for wide ports. Find a new piston or leave the ring out, worst case.Thanks. I'll try that.
The pin is gone in the bottom grove anyhow.
I had considered a new piston. I'll start searching. That's not a good thing if it is supposed to be pinned. An unpinned ring can spin which is OK for smaller, round ports, but not for wide ports. Find a new piston or leave the ring out, worst case.
Thank you so very much Al.Hey Clint,
I just sent the Greek a message for several sets of 55038 Caber rings, if he has them I'll let you know. I've used many for my 770D and C saws.
