Poulan 245 rings are around 2" x 1/16. Check those out.

How would they be taken down .009 ?This is an option, .009" over and take them down a wee bit.

Not that you need this but .009" could be removed with a fine double sided file or emery cloth.

I use a raker file. Couple swipes off each end of the ring, slide it in the bore to check the gap, continue until desired end gap is met. The caber rings file pretty nicely.

I got this monster to work on next. Got a few issues and missing parts but I think it's all surmountable. Compression is great and the belt looks good.

Will the carb from a super 2 (hi and lo adjustment) fit on a xl2 (only low adjustment)?
Tearing down a super xl and couldn’t resist.

I'll try and order the 2.009 from him. Since the pin is gone in the bottom grove, I can taylor the rings to fit with no pin.

The plan is to get some cut that match the homelite bolt pattern just trying to get a visual.
How about a few for the Remington cousin while you're at it? It's the one Homelite part that doesn't directly fit the PL-SL4's etc. There are actually two sizes and I found this larger version on ebay for a PL-4 I was rebuilding. Good size without being overkill and eating up too much bar length. Could easily be adapted to a Homelite pattern also.
