I have more than the one...I've got 4 or 5 of them, I think. At least one is a parts saw, the one I was speaking of now has some bar oil in the engine so I'll have to fix that for it to run again. The rest I'll probably put on 'the bay. I don't think I have any spare mufflers because a couple of mine came to me without a mufler and one of mine I can't figure how to get it off, I think they bolted the inner part to the cylinder and brazed the cover on; there's no bolt in center.

A few of my Super 2 / Xls have a muffler with an allen headed bolt on the inside that holds it. Mufflers are one piece with a small opening on the outside where you can reach in to get to the bolt. If you didn't know the allen bolt was inside, these things look impossible to remove. Not sure if your's is like this, but sounds like it may be.

CPR!!! What kind of bar and chain do you have for the Super 55A? My 1-80 balances well with 30" of cut length, I don't think a 42" is out of line. That is the older brother to the 1-80 series and the ancestor of the 890s. Just think of it, a 1950s chainsaw of moderate size, capable of falling 8 foot timber.

Not sure what's on it. It was an ebay deal. Looks like a 24ish hardnose. We'll see when it comes. Based on photos, I know it needs a sprocket, starter parts, and probably a carb kit. I look forward to running it heads up with the 1-82!

BTW, Acres site says the Super 55A should be 80cc and the Super 44A 87cc. Can this be correct? The saw I bought has the kart type puck muffler, not the box, yet it has the "A" spec grill over the flywheel. Frankensaw? Half-year model? We'll see when she gets here...

You're probably right, I didn't look in the hole...thought it was like the rest of mine that came with a bolt in the hole. Thanks!
