Those two saws - the 20MCS and the 26LCS of yours Cliff are very fine indeed. The 26LCS is in superb condition, with the 20MCS not far behind. I love the original bar on the 20MCS as well.

Really, really nice saws. Those are two Homelites that I would like to have in my collection one day. Congrats on these two being part of yours.

Regards,

Chris.

I like the Macs because they are what I have of the two brands. I only have the little guys, but I love using them. They all sat for many years and they were all easy to get running with a little TLC. One sat out in a junk pile for a lot of years and only needed a fuel line.

I had to stay with Mom and Dad, things are still off there. The bar is good, but 4" too short, but Kev gave me a new filter for the Super and I got the Pine cut out of the road, I would rather use the Super anyway. I have more to say, I'll snail mail you.

In a sea of plastic clones, the old monsters live on.

:ices_rofl::ices_rofl::ices_rofl: You are really ole school, Randy...men like you are a rare species nowadays. It's good to treasure memories and relics from the past, and while we get older, we hold on to them more and more.

As for the Macs against the homies, I have too few homies in my collection to make a personal choice. I am somewhat an exception in europe, because I have many ole Macs in my collection, amongst many collectors of european sauerkraut brands (I can"t believe I just said that, LOL).

Ole Macs have something special, me think.

Yes, Roland, you said that. LMAO!!!

Did you call me a "relic"?

Cliff, beautiful Homelites, they make my 5-30N look, well, modern. You can see the generator ancestry in the 20MCS

Gosh, don't know what to say.

Not treasured by all, I 1018'ed 5 ICDTPs and had the Goon Squad from PB come and get them. It's very quiet in there tonight.

Sounds like you made some friends Randy. I've been on the Goon Squad on many occasions. Nowadays, I leave that fun (and bruises, and liability...) to the new/younger guys.................except when the 'boss' decides that the 'problem child(ren)' is/are 'problematic' enough that the squad needs more 'experienced' members. Seems that a lot of the rookies lately have been kinda light in the ass too...

I'm still paying the price for having been 'very enthusiastic' in the early part of my career. Funny that I used to enjoy being one of the 'problem solvers'. There is still a sense of pride that comes from knowing you're one of the guys that get called when things realy need to GET DONE. I've found that pride hurts too though. Now that I'm pushing 40 I'm not quite so gung-ho...:monkey:

I don't take crap from inmates, they are being schooled in what happens if you piss off civilian staff.

Another old warhorse Homelite, it lives in a private museum now.

You shouldn't have to take any crap from them. Sometimes they give the medical staff grief (because they're not happy with some aspect of the free, 24hr medical care and medicines they receive). Not a good idea...:monkey:

Is that the 7-19 you had? Looks like quite a veteran, and has had to endure sitting in the corner for far too long since the last cut. I believe it wants to make big chips again....

Lee, that is a 5-30, it saw rough service, many welds, the clutch gave out, went through the case, there is also a mondo weld on the tank.

It is intact, it's history lives on.

Now theres a saw with some history. She has certainly seen some weather, but with a little tlc I'm sure she would be able to get the job done. These old school homies have a really menacing look about them - something which is unique to them.

I'm glad this one is now resting easy in a museum - and will be around to provoke the memories of the timberfallers and families who made a living from cutting the big timber of the years gone by.

Regards,

Chris.
