Just got a little XL101 off Ebay. Don't know a whole lot about it though I've heard it shares the engine with the SXL or XL12? Neat saw but its gonna need some work probably new rings and bearings. Thought its not too bad looking for $20. Can you still get parts for these?

Sort of an updated SXL. Smaller, lighter, higher compression--at least in some versions. I have a VI-123 (nearly the same saw with a half-assed antivibe setup. It's only 3.5 cid, but it'll rip your arm off if you don't use the decomp.

The XL101 was the 'little' or lower $ version of that series. Uses the same rings as the XL12 (3.3 cu in)which was also just a manual oiler.

Well thanks for the info. Bill, already sent you an email.

Tony,
Then my middle name must be obsolete lol. I've got a collection of equipment that would make you tear your hair out. Not much newer than 1980!:D
