Fixed for accuracy.Actually, I doubt that any non AS member needs more than three saws when going out to the woods. You might need six chains, but three saws wont quite do it, regardless of tree condition, felled or standing.
Interesting fix. I just talked to a customer who said that he takes out one saw and hopes for the best. I thought I covered the bases.Fixed for accuracy.
That's quite a load!View attachment 483671 View attachment 483672
AMT love from here too! Got a good deal on a 4x2 that got me(and a passenger!) to the wood lot faster but I miss the ole 5 wheeler for its uniqueness!

With ash I can get away with it. Oak not so much! Although the farmers around here with rock picker loads can attest they will hold way more than their lb rating easily. U find out quickly which tire is under filled though. Lol.That's quite a load!

I bring the logs to me. Fell with feller buncher, skid with skidder, delimber with stroke delimb, haul to shop with log truck and then cut in half with chainsaw (20-30fters work best) load onto processor with skid steer and out comes firewood.
Lot safer than "manual" handling and less wear and tear on me too.
I've done a few small properties by hand, looking to invest in a buncher head for skid steer and a trailer to haul it and a 550 dozer (with log arch)
The buncher, skidders, etc all need permits to move, the buncher needs double pilot cars too (its over 14ft tall on the lowboy)... Impracticle for a couple 10 acres.
Between 2 firewood operations, we do in the area of 800-900 cords of processed wood and 250 cords logs a year, and lumber too, no idea on board footage though, not my gig.

WOW! ya'll may be the AS Chord Kings!! wonder if any other firewood ops do more?.... impressive!!
valleyfirewood, I would love to see a video of your operation. Or atleast some pics. U can't just say u process 8-900 cords of firewood without any pics! [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I am guilty of doing this a time or 3 myself.
LOL not my car, that's right hand drive ( UK I believe ) I am able to fit the saws in the hatch no problemshmm, well... to be honest doubt I would care for a ride in ur car... especially after a hard day sawing... lol
