How do your truck beds look?

I like the plywood idea.

I've pondered those rubber truck mats before too, might make throwing logs a bit quieter. The plywood is a great idea, simple and cheap and I've got a full sheet of 1/2 inch treated in the garage. I generally try to slide instead of toss though, lost one rear window to a small rogue piece once.

I should say it is actually OSB that I use. I tried regular plywood and it warped, it wasn't treated though.

Mine has about 14" of snow in it right now. Plywood not a bad idea, though it seems like my wheel wells, tailgate & front of bed get most of the dings & dents.

Mine came with the thick rubber spray on liner. It has dents, not much for chunks missing. I hate the rubber mats, can't slide appliances in and out worth a crap. But, my bed don't do a ton of actual hauling. Have trailers for that. It has 3-4 receiver hitches, 3 chains, a couple load binders, ratchet straps that I forget to put under the back seat, hitch pins. I got rails bolted on box for the 5th wheel camper hitch, that goes in and out when needed. I got a gooseneck ball plate that fits under the camper hitch. Ball will come out if we ever get ice, usually ice shack rides in back of truck in winter. I did get my snowmobile trailer project done last spring, so shack will go on one side and ATV on the other side of trailer once we get enough ice for the quad.

The bed of my truck is 2x8s with 3/4" ply over the top to patch up the holes haha.

I need to redo it this summer.... I said that last summer too though.

I believe they are galvanized now. But still after every rain I drive it even for a couple of minutes to get the water out, most of the water stays above the plastic.

My 98 Chevy 3/4 ton came with a liner and I really like it (the liner and the truck). Some water gets underneath in heavy rains or snow melt so I park downhill with the gate down, everything runs right out.

Till the bed rusts out from the water that gets trapped under it.
That's the old stuff , liners in the last 15-20 years have been designed to keep a good amount of air pockets under there and really promotes drying. My trucks had a liner in it since new and has sat outside 100% of its life (16yrs) and the bed is rust free, the paints pretty scuffed but the floors in perfect shape.

The floor in my dump is 7 years old and shows pretty good droop but it's got a bunch of life left at .187 thick..image.jpg

Only thing I don't like with the plastic liners is they are usually slippery as heck. Things slide all over the bed.
Yes. Not a fan of those. I had a set of 454 heads that went from front to back of the box and put a noticeable buckle in my 98' Chev tailgate when it was about two weeks old. After that I put a rubber mat down on any truck I own.

My 97' is starting to get rust around the wheel wells but it's solid otherwise. No liner but I have a rubber mat down. Of course I normally stack my loads to get more in each trip. If you are winging chunks of hardwood into a box I'm sure it will look worse in a hurry.
