I like the plywood idea.
I have a plastic bedliner and love it, great investment.

I believe they are galvanized now. But still after every rain I drive it even for a couple of minutes to get the water out, most of the water stays above the plastic.Till the bed rusts out from the water that gets trapped under it.
Dude! You been hauling boulders or what? Mine is scuffed but not all smashed and bellied like that. It's loaded now or I'd get a pic.Mine is getting a bit soft and curvy for an old girl. Anyone else have a bed that actually looks used?View attachment 473252 View attachment 473253 View attachment 473254
I put a 3/4 inch sheet of plywood in my trucks the day I buy them. Keeps them in pretty good shape. And stuff don't slide around.

That's the old stuff , liners in the last 15-20 years have been designed to keep a good amount of air pockets under there and really promotes drying. My trucks had a liner in it since new and has sat outside 100% of its life (16yrs) and the bed is rust free, the paints pretty scuffed but the floors in perfect shape.Till the bed rusts out from the water that gets trapped under it.
Yes. Not a fan of those. I had a set of 454 heads that went from front to back of the box and put a noticeable buckle in my 98' Chev tailgate when it was about two weeks old. After that I put a rubber mat down on any truck I own.Only thing I don't like with the plastic liners is they are usually slippery as heck. Things slide all over the bed.
