Elastostart

I don't know why and how but installing the elastostart on my 044 solved the starting problem. It usually starts now in the 2nd or 3rd pull....just once when saw is warmed up. It doesn't take much effort to pull now too!

Well i cant see how it could be my recoiler cause when I pull out spark plug i can pull it real easy and cord doesnt bind up?? Someone at work was saying there's a flapper kind of shim somewhere inside that acts like a valve and can be sticking which is causing high compression? I will have to tack off the card end and see if there's anything like that in there.Or so kind of dirt causing a blockage? If not my friend at work was saying there's a husky dealer (old school) guy that knows a lot and is reasonable...

Look at the drum on the rope pulley that engages with the pawls on the flywheel. If there is uneven wear where the pawls contact the drum it will force the recoil assembly off centre when pulling against compression and jam the recoil making it hard to pull. Won't show up when pulling it over with the plug out. Solution is to replace the pulley with the pawl drum on it.
