Thanks I thought I would never get any credit for my 359 build.;)

Fred

OK you building a beast  but did you run it with a mild muffler mod? more like a normal tube muffler I got on mine 2159 over here, and how did it preform?
I think mine 2159 whit Tube muffler is a positively good runner, and not like the 359 E-tech/2159 cat over there, that seem's like a dud.

Wayne, Buy a stock 365 or 361. Which ever is cheaper or you like more. Whatever.

They are both good saws and I own both and every other saw mentioned, save the 357 or homeowner saws.

The 359 ETech is a pig.

Fred

The weight difference between the 365 and 361 is too large to make them equally good, imo......:givebeer: :givebeer:

I wouldn't want the weight of the 365, without the power of the 372xp, unless the saw is just for stationary firewood cutting.

WOW I feel left out................................................

.

No reason to, I give you reps as often as the system lets me.........

....you are a great guy!!!!:givebeer: :givebeer:

No Jack Daniels, please......:ices_rofl: :ices_rofl: :sword: :buttkick:

Btw, rumor tells me you are an ex Motorhead, is that true.........

I did run it with a "good" muffler and it was OK. It was not a 361 or 365 by any stretch.

Troll, before we stated modding we only used an 046 and 066s for cutting firewood. It's called getting it done. :biggrinbounce2:

He has a good light saw. Now he wants balls. BTW I own several 365s and 372s. In most conditions they feel pretty equal. :newbie:

That's what I've been saying all along!

Thanks Fred!

The 365/2165 with the closed port is a very good saw and shouldn't be confused with the earlier open port one with the Zama carb. They are two different animals, regardless of whether or not Husky/Jonsered changed their power ratings. It will flat out embarrass the 359. And the closed port versions have been out there for about 5 years now. It is easier to tell the difference with the Jonsered version since there as a model number change from 2065 to 2165. Husky changed theirs to 365 "special", but I'm not sure if the closed port cylinder showed up before the "special" designation or not.

I'll throw some more info into the Husky parts swapping bin of information...

My two original 365's were both 99 models. One was a special, one was a regular. Both were closed ports and both had the Zama c3M carbs...I owned them since they were a year old, and cut with them where I worked from the day they were new....Never had a cylinder put on them, well until I upgraded them to 372's a year or two ago. I also bought and sold a 2065 a while ago that had a closed port cylinder with a Zama Carb on it....
