The 365 special with the closed port cylinder is not much off the 372 in power.

I have one that WORKS.

BERRY 70 sorry i'm taking so long to respond yes i have a husky 55 rancher and want more power you say the 359 isnt that big a jump. I am looking at the Jonserd 2159 too

Husky 460/359/365

people keep talking about modded and ported stick to factory saws I'm just a homowner i dont know anything about that stuff. i cut firewood and for fun i have 5 acres of woods. like i said i have a Husky 141 and a 55 rancher i kinda wanted more power. i'll go not about $600 i like nice toys. There always downed trees in the woods BUT if there is an emergency and i need a good saw i'd kinda like to arrive on the scene and be the hero with a good saw lol . like i said i like nice things BUT not overkill i'll leave that stuff to you guys

Wayne, Buy a stock 365 or 361. Which ever is cheaper or you like more. Whatever.

They are both good saws and I own both and every other saw mentioned, save the 357 or homeowner saws.

The 359 ETech is a pig.

Fred

I do like that 365 in a shop kinda pricey compared to internet prices. i like 359 too but not more jump from a 55 Rancher I lick my lips at the Jonsered 2159 tho the husky 357xp looks interesting i keep this up and i'll kill myself then i dont need a saw

Hmmmm, that is a high top one - just adds weight and bulk, to no avail (unless you are in extremely dirty conditions), as far as I know..........:greenchainsaw:

The basic air filter system is so good, that there usually are no need for the large air filters on the 372xp.......

Sounds like somebody has big air filter cover envy! A couple of those little blue pills cures the problem... J/K  :hmm3grin2orange:

Wayne, if you are giving up on the 359 may as well toss out the 2159 also. One is orange one is red, they are essentially the same animal.

The Etech is a pig, yes, but it is easy enough to fix, once fixed it is on the level with the 361 or 357 give or take.

Modified, the 359 has more potential than the 357 IMHO.

But still if you have a couple smaller saws, do you realy need another that will only be a bit more power.

Though I own one I would not choose to get a 365, for the size it's 372 without a question, though both Stihl 460 and dolmar 7900 are good saws in the same size.

I cut fire wood a couple years with an 026 and an 066 not a bad combo, but beter with a 70-80 cc saw to fill in the gaps.

Almost think your buying a first house with the amount of thinking going into this.

That's what I've been saying all along!

Thanks Fred!

The 365/2165 with the closed port is a very good saw and shouldn't be confused with the earlier open port one with the Zama carb. They are two different animals, regardless of whether or not Husky/Jonsered changed their power ratings. It will flat out embarrass the 359. And the closed port versions have been out there for about 5 years now. It is easier to tell the difference with the Jonsered version since there as a model number change from 2065 to 2165. Husky changed theirs to 365 "special", but I'm not sure if the closed port cylinder showed up before the "special" designation or not.

I have one that is closed port and not a special, But I don't know 100% that the jug was original to the saw.

Just saw some nice pics of some eastern pine looked to be well over 30" that was cut with a 359. A sharp chain and that muffler done up I would think.

the 365 closed port is up there, but the 372 with a closed port is still a good bit ahead, from what I have found there is about the same difference from the 359 to the 365 as there is from the 365 to the 372 in cutting time. Thinking about it, it boils down to CCs. No replacement for displacement.

I agree the 359 seems to have more potential than a 357, but this man wants stock.

If he gets a hair he can bolt the 372BB on with no modifications.

2186 or 385XP - that is my suggestion. I am pretty curious about these 2 saws as I have heard good things about the 385 - apparently it mods well. There are some good videos on the net - HERE is a modded 385.
