I'd get a 555 for the small bar mount, low top, all orange and slightly lighter.

will it pull a 24 with authority thru hardwoods? i heard it likes 20" bars alittle better
To me, a 372 is for a 28" bar, in hardwood. I don't see a 60cc saw replacing mine. It'll pull a 24 just fine, but a 372 will pull it better in larger wood.
Doing that will most likely put more stress on the starting assembly.I don't know anything more of this matter (it it even deserves to be called that).
As we all should know, decomp valves sometimes do go bad on any saw that has them. The only way to eliminate the risk is to use the plug instead of the valve......

If I don't use the decomp anyways, how is plugging it putting any extra stress on anything?Doing that will most likely put more stress on the starting assembly.

If I recall there was some sort of service bulletin about improvements to the starter assembly and much discord on here or perhaps similar sites with some thinking they should be entitled to the improved parts and others saying that isn't right if it breaks it gets fixed.
In that case the best I can come up with is emotional stress due to uncertainty about invalidating a warranty. If I don't use the decomp anyways, how is plugging it putting any extra stress on anything?
Interesting choice of words stress is the force applied strain is the deflection that creates. It will put more strain on the starter - but then the plugs are listed in the IPLs....
