Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh Cassey

Listen up ole fine leader of this thread. It do appear you haven't held out a welcoming hand to the Husky users. Too many Stihl user posts. Extend your hand to everyone for we welcome all sides and all stories , correct Cassey??

Husky seems to have gotten proud of their saws in the last 10 years. You can now buy more saw for your buck from Stihl. Ian
You must be drinking that shine out your way in the hills of Kentucky . What ever little old lady from the coffee shop told you this was laughing her a$$ of if you believed her. Show "US ALL" the proof of this information. "You can now buy more saw for your buck from Stihl." Ha, HA, HA, Ha ..........

Can anyone tell me what these tapped holes are for on the 260?

attachment.php

They line up with the same holes on a 346 so you can bolt the 260 to it to give the 346 the power to cut through an 8" log.:hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

Nice one... but you're WRONG!

They are used to hold a a hedge trimmer and brush cutter attachment... Not sold in the USA/CA though... to many lawyers in the western world. Never have seen one in the flesh - only pictures. Anyone ever touched one?

357xp... list price the dealer showed me was $635+, said he would do $615
MS361 list price $589, I bought it for $530.

Practically identical saws, both in professional line. I found the Husky much cheaper at an online retailer a few minutes ago ($534 at alamia.com to be honest), but a large part of my decision was a local servicing dealer.

WOW ! The dealer wanted $615. for the 357xp!!! Holy smoke ! I dont think he wanted to sell it. The cost from my local dealer quoted me $540. and he would throw in 3 total chains and a gallon of bar oil . I think this is more of a local dealer pricing issue .............. not 1 company being better then the other. My local Stihl dealer is $599 . for the MS361 . 1 bar 1 chain buy it and dont bother me and dont ask for any $$ off and if you show me you credit card i might answer 2 questions at the most . You did get a good chainsaw from what i understand and should be happy with it .

i have only ran Stihl's until a year ago. I like the balance and controls. I have always thought they were good saws, and still do, but I love my Huskey. The controls are slightly different but I have adjusted. The main reason I like it is the POWER it seems to have! Paw-in-law has a 440 and I think it close to my 570 (not exactly sure how close) but there is no comparison to the way they cut.

Partial to the STIHL because thats what I do. I would consider other saws as well except for the fact of the box stores.

I have a piss poor Husky dealer and a piss poor Stihl dealer here ..But have a good Husky dealer that will kiss your shoes to make a sale on anything..We have 5 Stihl dealers in our county 4 of which will do there best to keep you happy ..The Husky and Stihl dealers in my area that suck only sell about 40 units a year ..Just wont even go in there .. Its to bad but it has to be that way..
How many Dealers of both brands do you have in your area of Nebraska ??

I think there needs to be 2 sticky posts. The first one being, Stihl vs. Husky, and the next one, My old saw died I need a new one which one do you recommend.

Unsure of the total dealers in Nebraska but you would think the 1 of each dealer would be enough ....... :buttkick: If you had too many dealers here then you would have more chainsaws then trees ..........HA ! Dealers make the difference . I was all for buying everything Stihl when i had nothing but the local Stilh dealer changed my mind of that so i bought 4 new Husqvarnas . :chainsaw: ...........I wouldnt really even call my local Stihl dealer a dealer ....I think more of them as a catalog i could buy full retail chainsaws from with a dumb look when i have questions. :taped:
