Thall, this wont turn into a pissing match if the couple of rabble rousers can keep their spoons out of the mug.

This isnt a "mine is bigger than yours" thread, just state which you like and why.

I like Stihl because they are two-toned.

I surely hope this thread doesn't go like mine did, you deserve much better.

As to which saw I like and why I like MY saw the best because I PAID FOR IT:hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange: I don't like my saw better than everyone elses just because it is, but becasue its mine, lolol. Yes I'm a spolied brat and if ya pick on me I'll tell my moma,:hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

Ok, let me spill da beans, I like the Stihls. Its what I do, simple as that. Been selling them a long time and working with them a long time. All the problems I read about on here I rarely see at work. I do admit I spend a lot of time going over the saws with customers before they go out the door. They rarely come back with a major problems because they were taught about the saw before they took it home. I have total confidense (is that spelled right hmm) in what I do and because of that I have a 22 Stihl collection and growing. I call it a hobby, some call it a passion, I take that as a compliment.

I'm behind the big rock on the left side of the house Husky users. BTW, I don't turn away Husky users at the shop. Can I raise my head up now??

Thalls is heavier than yours! by 8 ounces!

I like Stihl's 'cos the orange is on the top.

Yup by Joe I don't mess around, get the beefy saw and be done with it I say. You would be surprized what 8 ounces of pure and sheer speed and power does to the trees, not a dayumm thing, they never say a word, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr:hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

Can anyone tell me what these tapped holes are for on the 260?

Now theres a good question. I think at one time the 026 had a hedge attachment for it. Those may be the mounting holes for the set up. I say maybe because unlike those that don't know that say they know I don't know. I'm sure Lake will be able to tell us here in a sec after he gets all those crowns out of his eyes, lolololol

Hmmm.... I'm new here... but I ain't skeert.. I've been using Huskys for about 10 years and just made the switch to Stihl last week after I blew my 346XP up.

Here's why:

When I bought my first Husky 10 or so years ago, I got it from a local servicing dealer and cash was a consideration. I was rolling pennies for gas money. Huskys didn't have the power to weight ratio of the Stihls but they were cheaper and for me that was fine. Service wasn't a factor since both had good local dealers to shoot the breeze with. In fact, the Husky dealer wasn't even a chain outfit. The owner did the mechanic work and was a pleasure to talk to.

Advance 10 years.... My latest saw dies and I start researching again. Power to weight ratios are so close as to not be factor anymore. Meanwhile, Husky is being sold by the big box stores who don't service what they sell, don't know a chain from a garden hoe and my old friendly dealer is long out of business because he can't compete with big box prices. The nearest decent servicing Husky dealer is an hour drive one way. The Stihl dealer is still local, altho he's Ace Hardware - a chain. The head mechanic in the back is still friendly, knowledgeable, and glad to talk to you though. Husky seems to have gotten proud of their saws in the last 10 years. You can now buy more saw for your buck from Stihl. I'd never have guessed it. Finally, I have a friend who got me a 10% discount. So... A Stihl MS361 came home with me instead of the 357XP that I was eyeing at the end of the hour drive to the dealer so he could pronounce the 346 dead.

This is why I made the switch to Stihl.

Ian
