I stopped by a local dealer in Old Saybrook, CT that I have not been at in several months. I needed some bar oil. I walk in and there is not a single saw in the store. The walls are now stocked with all types of fireworks! I ask him for oil, he goes in back and comes to the counter with it. I ask where the saws went to?
He says it got to be to expensive to floor plan the line of saws
but he can get me any saw listed in the 03 catlg. in a few days.
Just for fun I ask the price of a 357xp 18", $ 579.00 he replies.
I can't help myself...and tell him if I want to mail order that saw
SouthWest Fastener has them for $ 480.00 delivered.

Here comes the ten mile stupid stare...

I lay my $ 7.00 on the counter and let him keep the change.

Another local dealer bites the big one!

That price sounds like the Husky dealers in chapel hill!! One place back in september or october quoted me $499 for a 346xp!!!!!!!  My response..... NO THANKS!!!!

Variable Prices

Two local dealers had 450 and 370 as prices for a 260. Five miles apart. I see the same spread with the Husky saws. Northern and Lowes both have a Husky 359 at about 480. I call that the "I don't really need your business, but I'll take your money if you're stupid" price. I try not to be the stupid one. Dumb at times, but hopefully, with a little effort, not ignorant. Clem.

I bought my 372xp through them, free shipping, gloves and glasses. Had it in a week. $560 total. I'm happy

good advice. i get my 372 and it needs any work done, hes the only one gonna touch it .. if he will, that is.
it shouldnt take a brick upside the head to see value.jmo

Hey Bro,

I was in that same store 2 months ago and they had the Full line of Husqvarnas. It's a shame they won't stock the inventory! You know you can always barrow my 026 or 440 when ever you need them.

I don't care if you even blow one up! It would give me an excuse to send it to one of the guys on this site, and have it rebuilt and power tuned.

see ya! "shouldn't we be spending quality time with our wives at 9:45p.m.?" Oh well

Brian....CCD for me, for a 372xp 24" bar was more after adding in sales tax and shipping, but your Dozerdan rec is the one I will follow on the next saw
