By the way I find it incredibly suspicious that my saw was pictured here without me presenting the picture/address. Either you folks have a lot of time on your hands, or the seller is here & has communication with one of you. I start a thread & come back after a day & 10x the info I presented is floating around. You fellas know where my pizza came from that I ate for dinner too?

Either way, That’s creepy!
fwiw, I found the listing in about 20 seconds. Search for Mcculloch 1-53 and go to sold listings. First one matches your description and the photos show the damage.

Spray some something around intake if it sucks it in and runs different you have found it and just seal it. It’s nothing bad enough that’s not fixable I am human and make mistakes but, not often...Lol

I understand that,
I’m asking you how you were able to decipher one from another? How did you know I was associated with that particular eBay listing? Ifin you aren’t the seller then that’s rather impressive LOL!

No big deal to make a reasoned guess. Just go on eBay. Search completed sales for McCulloch 1-51 and click on the first one - sure enough recent sale, recent negative feedback.

Who is at fault? The photo shows the damage in what way? All I saw was a larger washer on the left side of the manifold. I can zoom in on the picture that I saved from the eBay listing & resolution isn’t good enough to see the broken hardware... Shown that photo out of nowhere, would you immediately see an air leak? What about after reading that it was a runner? Last 2 mccullochs I bought from eBay required priming to bring life into them though either of them leaked.

And you're not even from Georgia. That's like a 2 state verification right there

Oh god, now I have to go & change a bunch of passwords & redownload Authy & IBkey etc etc. THANKS.

you’re teaching me things.

It wasn’t completely broke just the outer side a 1/4 inch maybe note the washer to help pull it up. Don’t believe that’s what is causing the problem. I just forgot about it when posting it honestly. The problem here is edwardo’s way of handling this. I emailed him before I shipped the Saw and even the day I shipped it. I figured he wasn’t concerned about it the Saw. Thought it was going to be a wall hanger or for his man cave. Boy was I. wrong look at how this has turned out. I should have just kept it.

I usually consider the price I paid for an item before I raise a stink. If the saw was dirt cheap I believe I'd just buy another carb for the saw and forget it. Of course many of us have access to parts more so than others. Of course if you paid a premium price for a running saw you should just file a claim with paypal and they'll get you your money back. If the seller doesn't want to pay return postage for the saw then you get to keep the saw plus your money back, which is what most people seem to be shooting for nowadays.

Right now I'm trying to figure out why a person is buying a 1-53 to cut wood with. I have a few big, older saws and mostly they're conversation pieces and shelf queens, really not a day to day wood cutter..I have a real nice C72 Homelite that I think is a runner but doubt I'll ever cut much with it..

The only email you sent me read something like “I’m boxing it up now.” Nothing of any mention about a possible air leak. Look I have a job too, & it’s not to hawkeye my inbox for your explanatory BS-mail. FACK, I thought I was buying what I read about... a runner. It doesn’t take much for one of these tanks to be a runner. My old man’s told me about hitting pitch pockets with his sp125 & having to go & drybthe points out after the saw died. Heard all kinds of stuff, learned all kinds of stuff. Fell timber for over a decade until bitcoin hit 1,000 & so on.....
I will never buy a chainsaw not to use. For me that is the whole thrill of old chainsaws...Using then...

That is not the point, totally not the point.

Fact of the matter is edwardo just joined this site to bash me and he is only been on eBay since 2016 with like 4 feedback reviews and I buy stuff daily on there plus sell with no bad reviews until you. So leaving feedback on my profile that “selling junk” before you even let me try to resolve the problem. Then I still tried to make you happy and offered a full refund if you would return it. So, I don’t know why arborist site or eBay put up with this nonsense! Mr. Fix It Myself out! Nuff said about this matter! I will enjoy discussing saws and getting help with issues I have in the future. Thanks so much and sorry y’all have to put up with this drama.

Well this certainly got interesting in the last few hours.

You guys do not seem to be making any headway by arguing in public any more than you did over the phone. Frankly it's pretty ridiculous that you both joined this site to argue about a saw that was sold somewhere else.

Buyer says he wants to keep the saw. So the only thing to be worked out is if the seller is willing to provide a partial refund.....what do you say guys.

Okay yeah, let’s see if the seller agrees. I bet he doeth noteth...

The real fact of the matter is I could date myself back to 2004 on this great website if I really needed to.

Though I’ll readily admit that I AM here to sensationalize this matter.

YOU! You is ze one who felt threatened enough to join in efforts to save your good word.

Should’ve been honest...

He could part it out and get way more than the $150 he paid. I have two 1-50’s that the intake is fine on both I haven’t had a chance to get running that I would have shipped his way if he would not have acted the way he is. Don’t get your way with threats and bad mouthing people or foul language act like a civilized adult! Lesson learned I bet he already has the Saw fixed and running fine, he is just bored !
