He could part it out and get way more than the $150 he paid. I have two 1-50’s that the intake is fine on both I haven’t had a chance to get running that I would have shipped his way if he would not have acted the way he is. Don’t get your way with threats and bad mouthing people or foul language act like a civilized adult! Lesson learned I bet he already has the Saw fixed and running fine, he is just bored !

This is now a parts saw & I’ll have correspondence with you via the eBay message system, mr. fix it myself...

Put on eBay for parts I will buy it back.

I just bought 3 skookum blocks from eBay. I was in the process of sending you a message but I got sidetracked...

Thanks for the trouble, wouldn’t have seen those blocks without you!

!!!!

Theres one problem with this thread...the sellers name needs changing to Mr.Fix-it-YOURself & Edwardo needs to be a man and deal with his own problems. Don't come here to air your **** like a little girl, call Dr.Phil or something. What's wrong with people these days, eBay has a feedback system & dispute system. Don't come here for sympathy, we could not care less.

I thought I was doing a favor to would be buyers by bringing a con to the eyes of a community with this exposè...
Sorry if I didn’t settle it like a drunk lumber co$& sucker but most folks don’t take to that kind o56 type stuff kid.

Good morning by the way..

Ok, both sides of this drama have had their say, story has been told and it won`t be resolved on this site so take it back to where it belongs and settle it between the two of you. Site members can draw their own conclusions and decide if they ever want to deal with either of you in the future. Let the dust settle on this thread or it will disappear and no one in the future will get to see it.

The problem is with ebay's dispute system, in my opinion, they almost always side in with the buyer. Ebay customer service people probably don't know much about chainsaws or other products that are sold through them and could care less. I believe they were told by their bosses to side with the buyer because there's more money in it for them. The problem is when the seller finally has had enough and quits he also takes a buyer (himself) with him. I don't visit the ebay site nearly as much nowadays as I did when I sold there.

Arguing over a $150 dollar chainsaw, that's the saddest part!

Yep.....and $150 chainsaw that is damn near 60 years old at that.....If you take notice I have a 1-52 in my sig....the only reason it's there is my BIL bought it new in Dec. of 1961, cut pulp with it daily until mud season (April) of '62 and I can swear it hasn't cut a full cord of wood since then....it has suffered from sitting more than work. Why in the world would "Edwardo" ever assume that for $150 he was receiving a 55 year old chainsaw that he could immediately put to work in the woods and make money with.....and furthermore why would he want to....a two man crosscut is just as fast and much more pleasant to listen to....as long as the fella on the other end of the saw ain't whining about what a raw deal he got on it.....the seller showed a video of the saw running....did not advertise anything other than that...it will run...that makes it a "runner" as opposed to a non-running saw in my book. It's not a museum piece....it's an old beat chainsaw...slow, loud and ugly.....it is what it is ...you bought it...enjoy!!

Well I figured who ever got this 30 pd monster would just display it. I cut two 20 inch logs with it done really good. For the $150 price I figured he would know it needed tinkered with. Hell I said it wouldn’t start initially unless primed with starting fluid. Just a cry baby wanting to start something. As far as eBay goes I’ve blocked him and that’s about all I can say about that. It’s being handled if I posted the emails you guys would be shocked. Sorry he came on here with this crap I just did to defend myself.

fwiw, I found the listing in about 20 seconds. Search for Mcculloch 1-53 and go to sold listings. First one matches your description and the photos show the damage.

buzzsawyer:

Thanks for this tip. Was not ever aware of such about sold listings.
That just sold listing made the price of some of my vintage (junk) go up in price when I go to review such now. (but it's local junk (vintage) only, not going to be listed for sale on flea bay)

This story will likely be on the soaps, DAYS of OUR LIVES next week.;)

Everyone have a nice New Years.;)

Yes, I always check prices on sold listings when I'm have something I'm considering for sale. Some of the chainsaw 'asking for' prices are outrageous.

Buzz:
Right about them asking for Outrageous prices. For example I seen (stumbled onto) a wrist watch listed on flea bay for around $6000, could have been even FAKE Zirconium diamonds. I just immediately did a fast exit.

Another Buzz and Tom here.

My last name is Sawyer;)

The way eBay is now set up its easy to get results, just a matter of opening a claim, they side with the buyer almost always and in this case no chance the seller can wiggle out. Putting a no retrurn clause in the listing has no grounds what so ever if the item is defective and not disclosed at the time of sale.

Correct.

Putting a no return clause has no grounds on eBay period.

Even if you sell it as a parts saw with no returns, if there is a file claimed you as the seller are about to lose money and waste time.

eBay is really a scammer paradise these days. Ebay makes money regardless, coincidence?

Also it's not for random people to decide how much value should be placed on someone else's money. I'm not hurting for money and losing $150 would annoy me. $15 may hurt some people and others wouldn't be affected by $15,000, that's not my right or anyone elses to decide for someone else.
