Depending on the saw, but best reason is...
To help you nab a better deal, of course!!
(some people can't/won't fix them...)honestly, though...
brake handles get broken, bands wear through from people leaving them on, actuating components fail, so sometimes people will just take it off...
OR, some guys just DON'T care for them
Sometimes I think that's a 'tough-guy' complex issue. IF you work limbing trees and crawling over logs, the brake in imperative, IMHO :msp_thumbup:J

Wow, he's right down the street from me. Glad I'm kinda broke or that would be wicked tempting.
He's been trying to sell this saw for 6 months or more but has now dropped the price $10. I guess that will get it sold!

Ebay is gouging a little deeper into the sellers pocket. They must not be making enough money off everyone else's stuff.
This bulletin just came today:
"starting April 19, to encourage sellers to keep shipping costs low, the Final Value Fee will be applied to the total amount of the sale--including shipping."

If I recall the fee structure correctly, it is 12% of the first $50, then 6% of everything above that.
I can see the managers meeting now. Trying to choose between no longer offering the free ship option OR including the shipping $$ to calculate the fees .... the higher cost to the seller won (lost,actually)!

No doubt. ebay and paypal are cleaning up.
The shipping handling loophole was a little to obvious though, with people selling a $50 item for .99 but with $49 s/h.
You would have hoped they could have come up with a better option though, after all, shipping on a saw to Europe is over $150........

Don't forget about MANDATORY paypal fees as well...
and your cost to box/ship/list (I guess I was all-encompassing with the 15-20%...)

Yikes! Forgot all about the PP fees! As a seller I just may go back to waiting for money orders and cashier's checks .... or start using Craigslist as my 'A' plan! :msp_scared:
