Johnnie, this seller has had this off and on C/L andI have tried to buy that saw twice in the last 2 years. I think he started out wanting over $500 for it but cant remember for sure. I think my last offer was around $200 and he wouldnt take it. Said he was going to pawn it for more then that and that was probably a year ago.

Its already up higher now then I thought it would be for being just listed.

I do like the looks of a NOS saw but I would have no interest in owning one myself. Last one I had was the Craftsman/Roper 3.7 but I never could bring myself to fuel it up, a unusable saw is a useless saw in my book. I ended up selling it on Ebay just to break even on my investment.

Whats a reasonable price on a stihl 010av? 12 and 14" bars...good runner, was also wondering about the reliability

I was watching this Pioneer bar that Saw King had...... thought it would go for $75 or so....

$182.50????????? people have lost their minds again..... Bryce has Pioneer bars coming out his wazoo for like $40, albeit a bit shorter and no chain, but still.... WTF

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

At one time Bryce had a stack of those 36" Pioneer as well as a bunch of other brands like dulmore and mac. All NOS stuff. They were selling for about 60 bucks and now wish I had grabbed an armload when I was there. :D

Stihl MS 390 | eBay

$550 BIN........ I laughed until I cried..... The $350 starting bid is pushing it in my opinion.

Yep, I believe mine was around $450-470 brand new from the dealer with the case, tools, and a spare full chisel chain. Granted that was 9 years ago, but still.................Oh, and my 390 has since been Mooberized by Randy Evans (Mastermind).

I think this seller also has a copy of the "Hind Parts Price Guide"..................LOL!!!

Any one else notice how the serial tag is hidden in each picture? How about the number on the jug?
So, I asked this question "Can you tell me the numbers on the other side of the cylinder or on the serial plate"
Sellers response is dated March 2 at 9:44 pst.
Think it's a XP with new top cover and starter decal?

I like the looks and would love to have it. Just would like to know the answers to my questions...

HUSQVARNA 372 XPW MECHANIC SPECIAL OR PARTS SAW | eBay

I like the looks and would love to have it. Just would like to know the answers to my questions...

I'M NOT A MECHANIC SO I CAN ONLY TELL YOU WHAT I KNOW ABOUT THE SAW. . .THE HEAD IS IN GREAT SHAPE . . . EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE THERE TO PUT IT BACK TOGETHER EXCEPT THE FOLLOWING THAT I NOTICED. . . NEEDS NEW 52MM PISTON, SPARK PLUG WIRE THAT GOES ON END OF COIL, THE OFF KILL SWITCH, AIR CLEANER AND 2 BAR NUTS. . . .IF YOU GOT A EXTRA 52MM PISTON AND WORST CASE A CRANK AND FEW EXTRA PARTS LAYING IN THE SHOP YOU WOULD HAVE A VERY EASY FIX TO GET THIS BAD BOY RUNNING. IT IS IN GREAT SHAPE . . .

So, he's no mechanic but he can tell you that it is in great shape, even though it is torn up and torn down after only a week's use? Why? How? Who? Was it because the saw was a 'bad boy'?

And it does not need anything.

Except a piston (except he does not seem to know what size, anywhere between 40 and 60 mm seems in the ball park).
And a spark plug wire (who pulls these off of a working saw?).
And a kill switch (ditto).
And an air cleaner.
And 2 bar nuts.
And maybe a crank ? (which everybody has laying around).
And 'a few extra parts laying in the shop' (which? how many?).
And a bar and chain, which he seems to not have noticed.

'Should' be an easy fix after that.

This is a saw, excuse me, a collection of saw parts in questionable shape, that I would want only if I had a bunch of similar saw parts to combine with. And I would want it for a whole lot less than it is going for.

And not the pile of parts I would want to buy sight-unseen.

But I guess that I am just picky about stuff like that.

I actually have one of these little macs and they cut just fine, used it a bunch last week and this week. Free saw for going over and cutting down a few little sapling sized trunk stubs. If I was closer, I'd go get it.

FREE 16" McCullogh Chainsaw Great Condition...needs sharpened

Zog,

That's a question I posted in the 'Craigslist Laughs' thread: who might respond to the 'free-firewood-for-cutting-down-my-tree' thread if it included a free chainsaw!

Those small trunks don't look too bad. Not like dropping a 'real tree' near a house or power line. He didn't say who keeps the wood!

A guy up the road from me has been selling ones something like that. His are 52 cc's I believe. $150. I'm tempted to try one just to see.

Somebody here posted a 'sales' video for one of those a week or two ago. Laughable stuff. I think it was in the "fight" thread.

Wow. I traded a 257 that was almost that nice looking (and was a SWEET runner after I was done with it). I got it cheap as a non-runner at a yard sale and did a few basic fixes and some serious cleaning. P/C were perfect. I was very happy with what I got out of it, and I can see why he was happy with his end of the deal too.

voicemode=scottie on simpsons "arrrrr..that's me rrrrretirrment wood"!

Ha! Either way, seems a fair deal for someone. Ya, I know not worth a whole lot, but the price is right for like two minutes work and a drive over, one minute of which is start and warm up your saw. Just wayyyy too far for me to drive for that. I have two of them actually, plus a junker that I know I could make work. They seem to be OK small saws, old school horz cylinder layout. Fuel sipper, good for small stuff and limbing, etc. I'm just switching around and trying out small saws as I get them running on this huge branch pile in the yard. I don't have anything left really necessitating a larger saw.
