That's about what they should be, IMO.
Right now the chinese clones are coming in at that price. Eventually they'll get the quality up, then....
The deal is, once they get the quality up, they won't necessarily have to make "copies", just knock out their own brand saws of various sizes.
Inevitable now, everything that can be made, they are making it, and it's not necessarily all junk. It won't take long. I am old enough to remember "cheap Japanese junk", then they went on to make world class high quality stuff.
I remember back working for GM and I was in "the union" I heard every guy there but ME go on and on how no one would ever buy a cheap japnese car, for various reasons, etc. I'd argue back, just wait, they are gonna take our lunch money one day. I based my opinion on actually inspecting what japanese cars I could find to look at (not many back then of course), but I saw quality that was going to get there, at a good price, with fantastic mileage.
I felt lonelier than the maytag repair guy saying that back then, no one agreed with me.
China is in the same boat now, just they are ten/twenty times bigger as to manufacturing potential, and are way more raw capitalistic than most any place else.
So a buck a CC, for good enough quality...coming soon, I'll predict it right now.
What will happen to the euro saws....they are gonna have to hustle real dang hard, offer some amazing advances, to keep making sales at three or four times the price. And/Or, they will shift production "over there" and try to keep capitalizing on a brand name on the label to keep their margins up.
