Craigslist 362 Score

This one I could not resist and had to grab it. Good buys in my area are few and far between.

Well I finally got lucky and bought a nice MS362 w 18" bar for only $200. It was extremely dirty, but cleaned up nice. Cylinder and piston are excellent and pushing 160 psi compression. Will get a 362 emblem for it. Took some pics but they are too large to post, so here are links at photobucket.

The seller mis-spelled Stihl (sthil), so most folks searching Craigslist won't find it. I guess the dealer stuck a Farm Boss stenciled bar on it when it was sold. For some reason, there are dealers around here that sell those bars for a few dollars less than the same size Rollomatic E, even though they seem to be otherwise identical. :msp_confused:

This looks like a great alternative for someone considering a new MS 291/292.

The carb kits aren't so rare, functioning carbs are. They're not the highest performing carbs out there. An equivalent-sized Tillotson HL
will usually do a better job.

That was my thought. The part about the chain. Doesn't look all that well cared for either, as new chain. Nice thing about CL is that if you shop locally, you can inspect it before you buy.
