Looks good Rube. Is this the ice pit? Where exactly is that?

Off to Rjukan, Norway on Friday.

Just outside of a holy land we call "The Frozen Tundra", in Green Bay Wisconsin.
This is a different corner.
But boy oh boy Norske land. Have some lutefisk or at least a good pull of Aquavit for me! Have some fun in the fjords.

Edit: Gonna need some pics:)

And Ironbark this is the only phrase you need
"Kunne jeg ha enda et øl og hvor er badet ?"

So, if i say that am I going to get lucky or beaten up? :)

I ferried an aircraft up from Memphis to Wisconsin a good few years ago now. I think it was somewhere like Watertown or something like that.

The Ice Pit had an open festival last weekend which was a ton of fun. i've been a member in years past, but havn't made it up there much as i spend more and more time in colorado these days, moving there shortly.

As a climber, this can be a tough place to live, but its allot more tolerable in the winter with awesome spots like the munising area and the ice pit!

my pics from last weekend:

my fiances (accomplished bigwall and trad climber) first time trying out ice, she said she'll give it another go, but vastly prefers fisher towers :)

Tim, I'm still here, but you're moving? I will be bringing my mountain bike out this spring, was looking forward to biking the trails you spoke of earlier.
shoot me a PM, sometime.

Very nice pics BTW:cheers:

yeah, moving out to the boulder colorado area, as a biker and climber, obviously its a little bit of an upgrade! not to mention a career move and my fiance lives there. i'll be here until the end of march though, so hopefully we get a chance to ride!

You will more than likely get a beer and if someone points thats where the bathroom is.
Yes there is a hunk of cement in Watertown so that would be possible.
Have fun and send some pics.

euroford. I only got to climb one day, at the pit, as I got spanked by the 2 visit rule. 2 visits and than you HAVE to join the club at sundays rate of 140.00 and than still park up top:(
The attitude and stars werent lining up for us there.

rube, i like your style. go figure that a couple of ice pit climbers would find each other on the arborist site.

addiction to really beetchin tools i spose?

Why thank you euro. Yes the ice tools of any climbing tools are, to me, the coolest. Axes, crampons, ice screws rock!
I have a large cottonwood that has had a couple of ascents. :jawdrop:
Hopefully the hardcores are ignoring this thread by now.
