Dealer suggested retail price, It's the same as MSRP. American Express is a widely accepted card, carried one for years in business. If you can use the 250 towards your payment awesome if not buy a few chains and other goodies..

I thought DSRP was Distributor Suggested Retail Price, which I thought was a bit odd, the distributor setting the price.

And....I thought that STIHL did not allow the dealers to set the prices?

You talk to any Stihl dealer, and they give you the impression that they have no control over pricing. At least that's what they tell me............

Nope.....it's $250.00 back in the form of a statement credit, and I have the offer sitting right here in front of me. It's a limited time offer, and expires 1-25-2016. I know credit cards, and wouldn't make that kind of an elementary mistake.

And....it's 0 % interest on purchases / bal. transfers for 15 months, and no annual fee.

I just got a American Express business , $300 off if I put $1000 on it in the first 3 months. I got the $300 off on the first statement, a new Echo CS590 for $324 shipped, quite a bit of gas and groceries plus some other things. With a portable sawmill I use quite a bit of gas and diesel.. Good deal. Steve

I've wanted an MS-461R for some time now. But the stars haven't been in alignment.......until now. :dancing:

Found a dealer with one in stock. He says he'll drop $100.00 off the MSRP of $1159.00 and do $1059.00 and no sales tax. I didn't even have to ask. :surprised3:

So far that's great. Now, I just have to wait for my American Express Card application to be approved. They have a promotion going on. If you spend $1000.00 within three months of getting your card, they will credit your account $250.00.

That means my total out-of-pocket cost for that lovely MS-461R will be $809.00:happy:

Now.....it's just a matter of waiting for the card to arrive. :havingarest:

Well you know me, I like a Stihl of a deal :innocent:

Don't be so defensive....I'm asking because I don't see that offer anywhere, only the $150 deal. I'm just surprised it's not under their offer page of Amex cards.

Every region has different pricing on some equipment and most all parts.

Stihl isn't the government. They can't tell you what to sell your property at.

They do have control over pricing. The ones that don't discount are the ones that don't need to.

Naw.....not being defensive, just clarifying / verifying the offer.

Years ago, while going to college, I worked at a major brands credit card processing center. Lots of offers go out to past and current customers, but yet, never go public. Some go public, but not to customers.

By speaking to some Stihl dealers, you get the distinct impression that Stihl is Gawd Almighty.

And.....I've been told more than once, that yes, Stihl does tell them at what price they can sell their products at.

Allrighty then, sounds good.

There's a lot of things that I am, and there's a lot of things that I'm not.

One thing I've been for as long as I can remember, is that I'm very good at sniffing out deals. I'm not saying that I'm the fastest on the draw or quick to know one when it shows up unexpectedly, but if it's a good deal, I will act on it and see it thru to the end.

Congratulations !

That's a smoking deal on a mighty fine saw !

I sure like mine, as I've said before, if I could only keep two saws it would be the 241 and 461

I'm a member of Credit Karma and I received an alert from them today. It was in regards to a credit check. It was American Express checking me out. No worries there, as my score is well into the excellent range.

I'm hoping that approval goes fast and that they send me a card soon. Time is ticking and I need to get that saw bought and give my brother time to swing by and pick it up before he comes up for Christmas. :blob2:
