Well well, they are avaible in all dealer networks in Norway at least with prices, included MS 261 C-M VM.
Old model is removed on Stihl Norway homepage also.
Perhaps I should take a drive and see if they are in shops also, that said, maybe, I dont stress to see an Stihl :p.
Checked prices, 1050$ for 261CM VM, 900$ for 550XPG, like said earlier, Stihl have some serious work to do with their pricing ;)
What are the shipping costs to Norge from USA if you bought one here?

Here the price of stihl MS 261 C-M is 826€ with 40cm bar to 830€ with 45 cm bar.
The Husqvarna 550 XP is priced at 849€ with 50 cm bar.

I am clueless, never checked how much it would cost to ship from US or the other way. Tax goverment in Norway have been a pain in the ass last year also.
I always check what exchange rate we have, right now it's around 8,7Nkr for 1$, so I kinda doesnt check US nowadays, would only consider it when $ drop again.

My supervisor bought a house in Florida back in 09, if I remember correct the exchange rate where 5Nkr for 1$, plus your guys struggle in those years, somehow I never felt he deserved it but he was smart, give him credit for that.

I'll see next week if I get the time to drive around and see if the new 261 is here, just for fun :)

Tor, check out the Stihl MS241 C with a picco bar and chain setup now it is my favorite saw.

There's only one reason. Nothing else I did made the saw run like I wanted. Gutting the strato makes a huge difference, both in the 261 and the 241. If you go back to my original 261 thread, where I was modding perhaps the first 261 sold in the US, I did progressive mods. I just wasn't seeing the gains I wanted. I finally threw caution to the wind, and the result is gutted strato. It works! That's all I can tell you. They run good with out the gutting, but not all that impressive.
With thar being said of cutting away the divider. Do you suggest to customers to run more oil cause some of the fuel isn't going to the big end?

How would that be?

I recommend that all my saws be run at 32:1, no less than 40:1 with a full synthetic oil.
Just figured on a strato they divided the intake ports fresh air top fuel to the crank end so I thought I'd ask if a higher oil ratio was in order being the big end isn't getting all the juice I know crapsman and poulan and still 201 are all divided and looked like that jug was too

Well I think it's still a safe bet wit a heavier mix the bottom end will be fine. It don't se the Temps the top end does. I'm stoke to se it run with that divider cut out. I've had that thought about removing dividers but never have. But now I might

At stihl dealer today ,they said 441 production has been shut down with no explanation from stihl ...

Local hardware is the stihl dealer here. Found that to be true bout 2 months ago.
I heard bottom ends blowing up but who knows.
Ms360 and ms 390 r only 2 stihls I own. Cut off carb limiter on both, 390 now has a ginormous china carb w/out em, cost a whopping 25 clams too.
My 3 other saws r husky, no desire to spend big bucks on a saw that I cant fix with a lil screwdriver:chainsaw:
Unless its a 562 or 576:dancing:
