Is the 3120 going to be discontinued?

I called my dealer this morning, he said not that he knew, but nothing to say it wouldn’t be in 2 months or 2 years. I would presume as long as they keep replacing the higher volume “clean” saws the bit dirty one will still continue to sell. I can’t imagine it’s a high volume saw, so revamping it to a 500 series doesn’t make much sense.

Interesting, cause 543 has been OOP since last year, late summer or early fall. As far as I can tell, there aren't anymore floating around in warehouses.
Did you notice it says while supplies last on all 3. So if out their out their out where your looking.

Quick search dealers still selling them online in STOCK too. Their everywhere still in that few second search.

Very weird, as I've had dealers on both coasts tell me 543s are NLA with none in the warehouses.

In store supply may be a whole different ballgame.

If I was buying one of those 543. I would buy the Zenoah redmax one for the cheaper cost so not paying husky XP prices. ;) Priced at what the xp should have been imho
Totally agree, and I also think you're right about the online. But yea, i purchased my first one at ~retail. Way overpriced. The last two I got from Bruce, pho, for about $125 less, and several years after my original one.

Sent one to Kevin, but haven't had a chance to cut any wood with it yet. Got another boxed up sitting in the dark, and a couple that need repair.

I still keep thinking about ordering one. The 385 mills pretty well on the single ended bar, but a 3120 would really move things along. Being on sale is really a significant incentive. Do they usually run sales this time of year?

Downside of 3120 is the fixed hi-jet, which can be drilled for extra cost. I think the front case often gets cracked, like on the 395s, but i could be mistaken.

Most will say a 395 is plenty capable in North American woods, but as you say, a 3120 would really move things along.

I ran my third hand and gone-through, then well used by me, on the mill a fair amount. Did good. Outboard of the 395 would be nicer. 372 worked good for small stuff or the edging.

Eventually, but I haven't heard this confirmed, unlike the 390 and 395 which are no longer in production for the USA market. No idea how long the 395 will be made in Brazil, or if they'll keep importing or not.
It’s curious which models they choose to continue producing in Brazil. They still produce the 272xp along side the 372xp oe, as well as 288xp. Stihl even produces the ms260 and 361 in Brazil. I bet the 395xp will be in circulation for a while. It’s been a very highly regarded saw. I’ll always have one.

Case cracking from internal
Stresses or is it vulnerable and the saw heavy?

The question I would have is how would one go about getting it one?
